Flint Bulldogs
The Flint Bulldogs started play in the CoHL (later the UHL) for the 1991-92 season, filling the void left in Flint pro hockey when the Flint Spirits moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, a year earlier. The Bulldogs would have a short stint in Flint. In their first season, the team would go 20-37-3 and miss the playoffs. In their season, they would fair a bit better at 27-29-0-3-1 and lose in the first round. The Bulldogs would move to Utica for 1993-94, where they would spend one season before being taken over by the league and going out of business.Â
On an interesting note, Marty Howe (one of Gordie's sons), played 3 games for the Bulldogs in 1992-93. This was likely a promotional comeback, as he had retired in 1985.Â
