Transcona Railers
The Transcona Railers were a junior 'B' team from a suburb of Winnipeg, Manitoba during the 1970s. They started played in 1976-77 and made it to the league finals that season. They would win their league in 1978 and 1980, advancing to and winning the provincial title both times. In 1980, they went on to win the Western Canada Junior B title as well.Â
The team's logo was a great play on the Indianapolis Racers, who played in the WHA at that time. Transcona was a railway hub in the early 1900s, which is why the team is railroad themed.Â
