Greensboro
Greenboro, North Carolina's entry to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) joined in 1959. The team was the beginning of a long legacy of minor league hockey in the city. At the Greensboro Coliseum, they won one title in 1963 with long-time coach Ronnie Spong at the helm. After the EHL collapsed in 1973, they joined the SHL and played there until 1977 when it, too, went under.
