Belleville McFarland's
The Belleville McFarlands were a senior league team that only lasted for a few seasons from 1956-1961 but were widely popular and successful during their playing time. They played out of Belleville Memorial Arena in the OHA Senior League. Their name came from the construction company that sponsored the team.Â
In 1958, the McFarlands won their league and went on to win the Allan Cup and Canada's senior champions when they defeated the Kelowna Packers. They were then chosen to represent Canada at the World Championships in 1959 and they won that title too! The team featured a number of future big leaguers including Frank Bathgate and Red Berenson.Â
