What is the quality of Athabasca University?
So, there are some standalone courses that I would like to take. It might not be possible to take them at my "physical university" due to other things that might take my time away. Nonetheless, since there's summer break, I figure that's a lot of time in which I won't be doing much. I figured I'd just put the time into other courses that might get me ahead. [more inside]
How do I go about deciding which university to attend in Canada?
So, I'm a CS graduate, I have decided to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Science in Canada. I've applied to several places, and received acceptance to 3 universities thus far. I've discarded one already, but the other two greatly interest me. I am not sure how I should go about choosing and the reality of having succeeded is weighing upon me. [more inside]
Is it possible to do a Financial Math/Stats MSc as a CS Major?
So, I'm considering some longshot applications. I'm a CS Major I didn't take as much math as stats majors or math majors. I took the usuals Calc, Linear Algebra, Stats, Probability, Operations Research and I guess you could say AI and Operating Systems involve a lot of math.
I don't suppose this is common? I'm mainly looking at programs in Canada with universities that have strong research in mathematical finance and actuarial science. [more inside]
How do I deal with the uncertainty of grad school applications(Canada)?
So, I guess this comes from grad school applications. I'm applying to grad school in Canada. I want to get an MSc(thesis) in math or computer science. I'm also an international student.
Quite frankly I hate the process of applying. It takes incredible effort and there's really no certainty of anything. I don't know how to cope with that. [more inside]
In which subfields of computer science can I learn more about math?
First, I've asked a ton of questions related to this, it's annoying yes, but I want to apply to a masters degree and part of doing that is doing research and asking questions to narrow down the scope. [more inside]
Best universities in Canada for applied math and mathematical finance?
So I'm a CS major, but I want to get into more mathematical fields. I really like Finance and Operations Research.
I know Waterloo has good programs for that. However, who else is also a good choice? [more inside]
