How to best connect game consoles, an AVR and an LG TV?

I'm about to upgrade my TV to an LG G4 and trying to understand which methodology of connection will provide the best results for picture quality of each source, as well as the least amount of headaches from technology issues. Should game consoles connect to my Denon AVR and then output to a singular HDMI port, or should I instead connect the consoles to their own HDMI ports on the TV, then use the HDMI2 eARC port on the TV to send the audio to the Denon AVR? TV Mount...with a twist.

I need to mount a 65" TV to the wall, but I need to find a mount that will allow me to do it off-center (so, the center of the TV is going to end up about a foot or so to the SIDE of where the mount is attached to the wall itself...but everything would still be flat against the wall...AND the mount would still be completely hidden behind the TV itself). I think I could probably use one of the mounts with an articulating arm, but I can't tell from descriptions whether any individual model would do what I need to do...does anyone have experience with specific model that you know would work for what I'm trying to do? Thanks in advance for your help!

Seen on Mhz way back in the Nordic noir day

I saw a Swedish police procedural on Mhz back in the 20 years ago days when Mhz was a public channel stateside. It was an episode of Sebastian Bergman if I recall correctly. A silent man sits on a bus stop bench. Two or three youths approach. A big knife is waved at him. Things do not end well for them. [more inside]

How to get Canadian television within PNW without cable

I live in Seattle. I know I can get CBC via Comcast (Xfinity). I don't have cable and don't want to sign up for it again. Are there specific ways to set up an antenna or other gadgetry to get Canadian/BC television without cable from the Seattle area? I have used antennas in the past but have not been able to get much more than a handful of local stations. Looking for specific answers as opposed to vague suggestions about VPNs, say, that streaming options appear to be able to defeat. Thanks.

Guide for watching election results come in

Is there a good guide online for how to watch and interpret the election results come in? Not so much where to watch the returns on TV, but more so things like what time all the state's polls close, which states and races are "ones to watch," bellwether results that may indicate how the election is going, or any other interesting stuff to look out for. Bonus points if there's a PDF I can fill out as the night rolls on, like a baseball scorecard!

Earliest film/tv example of the engineered super-spy/assassin trope?

I've been watching Hanna and now I'm wondering about the earliest example of an engineered spy/assassin training program in Film and/or TV. Think Bourne movies, Marvel's Black Widow program. Not a spy agency, plenty of those from the 60s... it's the chemical/genetic engineering plus the specialized training that's the key difference I'm after. La Femme Nikita (1990) is the earliest I can come up with. Please no books or comics.

Can anyone help ID this dimly recollected movie clip?

Hopefully this isn't too vague: in the late 80's/early 90's my dad taped Star Wars off've Canadian cable TV for us. Why did people in TV and movies stop wiping their faces?

In recent shows people don't wipe their faces after getting mud, dirt, blood, etc. on them. I'm in my 50s and this feels like a change. I remember watching the commentary on the Evil Dead DVD, in which Bruce Campbell talked about a "continuity wipe" where the actors would intentionally wipe their faces at the end of a scene so that when the movie was cut together, there wouldn't be obvious continuity problems. I noticed that other older shows did that too. What's changed? [more inside]

Does the Fallout show get less gross?

I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first episode of Fallout (no prior knowledge about the games) and the story is interesting, but it's unbelievably violent. Is this a "brutal inception of the hero", or is it like this the whole way through? I can handle some violence but the story has to be the main thing. For reference, I enjoyed the Last of Us but thought the final rampage was stupid, and I would have enjoyed something like Game of Thrones way more *without* the HBO sex and gore corporate mandate. Is this show just for gun-totin' bros? Thanks!
