Rare Interview with Dr. John Stanbury on Cable TV Show - GONE

Was on YT - now gone. He was a guest on a cable TV show on natural health with a very progressive and smart female interviewer. The interview was really cutting edge. Now it's gone. I can't find it. Please help me find it - was vintage 80's or maybe early 90's - grainy VHS. The entire show's archives were on the host's channel.

HDMI splitter that will work automatically?

I have an older (2006-ish?) tv with one HDMI port. I have three things (Roku, DVD player, and cable box) I would like to watch via the tv. I've been using an HDMI splitter that requires manual switching (I have to go click it to transfer between the cables), and it's in the process of active dying. I would love to replace it with something that (a) works and (b) does not require that I get up to click it when I switch from Hulu to cable. I'd love to avoid another remote control as well, but it's not a dealbreaker. Suggestions? [more inside]

How can I affordably conceal cables/cords/devices after I mount my TV?

I just bought a condo and need to mount my TV to the wall. I’d like to conceal as many of the other external parts and devices (TV power cord, cables, cable box, and Roku) as possible once the TV is mounted. My brother-in-law mentioned infrared repeaters and RF remotes as possible solutions, but I am overwhelmed by the options and their mechanics, which products are compatible with my TV, etc. [more inside]

Y'ever dance with Verizon in the pale moonlight?

I've been a reasonably satisfied Verizon FiOS customer for a number of years, but they seem to be getting stingier with their discounts for existing customers. I've thought about doing the customer retention game again, but I'm not willing to call their bluff and go to another provider. I've read online that some people have had success canceling and signing up again under their spouses' name. Has anyone done this? If so, do they give full new customer discounts? Do you have to cancel service for some number of days, return equipment, etc?

Charter digital conversion, the end of cable?

We just received notice (so far just an automated phone message) that Charter is switching to 100% digital signal on their cable TV system, and as a result we would be required to get a cable box. Now, part of Charter's signal is on analog channels, and part is on digital, and the tuner in our TV can locate them all. Does tis mean that post-conversion all the channels will be beyond the range of the tuner in our recent-vintage LG TV? We have the 3-way bundle with Charter for phone, broadband internet, and cable TV all at their lowest level of service, the TV is called "Basic cable." I understand they are phasing this in, so I'm wondering if someone who already has experienced this could comment on what was the result. [more inside]

Please help us watch TV on our TV

We have a TV but no cable subscription (we mostly watch content through Netflix or purchase on Xbox). We used to be able to watch the normal network channels with no problem -- Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and several PBS stations, along with some other stuff. We had both regular and HD channels. Now they're all gone and the only channels we can access are some jazz scheduling thing out of San Mateo, a bunch of radio channels, and NHK World (learning a lot about Japan!). I really miss PBS and wouldn't mind watching the Super Bowl. Please help. [more inside]

Best options for a new HDTV

I have a new (to me -- it's about 10 months old overall, I think) HDTV that, unfortunately, doesn't have an Ethernet port nor does it have wireless connectivity. It was a gift, of sorts, so I'm kind of stuck with it. Since I had a very old standard set, it's still an upgrade. Which is truly better? Cable or Dish Network?

One of the longest-running modern-day battles is that of Cable vs. Dish Network. Both seem to basically offer the same stuff. Most everything I read says Dish Network offers everything Cable does, except it's cheaper. Which is better and why? Does Dish Network really go out when it rains or is cloudy? Do you have experience with both and a compelling reason for one over the other? Thanks in advance.
