Best films/tv series of Lesley Manville?

I am a huge admirer of the actress Lesley Manville, and I was wondering if there are any good films and tv series that you recommend of hers? I really liked her in Mum, Magpie Murders, Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris, Phantom Thread, and Another Year. But are there other older and new works of hers to recommend?

Best options for learning a British Accent (Received Pronunciation)

I'm an American looking to master a British accent for fun. I'm willing to spend money to do this (up to a few thousand dollars), but if there are cheaper options, I'm open to anything. I came across this course: https://www.etjenglish.com/collections Curious what else there is out there? Any way to practice conversationally with British speakers?

How do the Scottish generally feel about being in the UK?

Generally speaking how do the Scottish people feel about England and being part of the United Kingdom? Do the Scottish (again generally speaking) consider themselves part of the UK or think of themselves as sort of separate, even though they are a country within the UK? I'm trying to remember a band that was in the indie realm, possibly British, definitely young, and very clearly played a vacuum cleaner in a song. I think they maybe DIYed all their instruments. It had a vibe in the realm of Dirty Projectors, very much nerd pop. [more inside]

Why is the landlord in the Wicker Man played in the camp style?

My wife and I were watching The Wicker Man (1973, the 'Final Cut' released in the 2000s) for the summer solstice, and neither having seen it for decades, had forgotten quite a few of the details -- including the fact that the landlord in Summersisle can only be described as tremendously camp. It's great to see queerness in cinema, but we're wondering what the narrative point is. [more inside]

English strip comic about an angry tabloid reader

There was a black-and-white comic strip, drawn in the UK in the 2000s, where the main character was an extremely right-wing middle-aged English man with a toothbrush moustache, and the premise was that he got angry at things on his computer. He made an onomatopeic noise like 'GNAARRR', and had a put-upon wife who was never actually drawn. It could be in fairly poor taste. What was this comic?

Identify the British sitcom from the scene I describe.

In a hotel room, suitcases are open on the bed, mother and children unpacking carelessly. A man with a working class and very regional (perhaps Newcastle or Welsh) accent emerges mostly naked from the bathroom, announcing excitedly, and very pleased with himself, "Hey kids! Daddy's done an arse up the towel!" He holds open a large, white bath towel with a long streak of faeces running very nearly from corner to corner. The children are moved to raucous laughter while the mother disapproves ineffectually. [more inside]

'Excuse me' different in British & American English?

I just had a confusing interaction with a stranger on a train. I was sitting in a seat with a table & a man sat in the seat across the table from me. As he sat his feet bumped me mine & he said 'Excuse me'. His tone was ambiguous so I asked him (pleasantly, I thought) whether he meant, 'I apologise' or 'Please will you move your feet over a bit.' He reacted as if he didn't understand the question & even when I explained, still appeared not to understand what I was asking & implied I was being aggressive. This was very surprising in the very quiet & polite atmosphere of a British early morning commuter train. However he had an American accent, so I am wondering if in American English the phrase 'Excuse me' doesn't have these 2 possible meanings?
