Ari Espinal
Ari Espinal is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 39. Espinal was first elected to the chamber in a special election on April 24, 2018. She was defeated in her bid for re-election after she lost the Democratic primary on September 13, 2018. She was also defeated as a Women's Equality Party and Working Families Party candidate in the general election on November 6, 2018.

The seat was left vacant after the resignation of Francisco Moya (D). Moya resigned after winning election to the District 21 seat on the New York City Council in New York.
