Maryjane Shimsky
Maryjane Shimsky (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 92. She assumed office on January 1, 2023. Her current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Shimsky (Working Families Party, Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 92. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024. She advanced from the Democratic primary on June 25, 2024.
Biography
MaryJane Shimsky was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and lives in New York. Shimsky earned a B.A. in art history from Yale University in 1982, a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1985, and a Ph.D. in history from the City University of New York in 2007. Her career experience includes working as a community relations director for New York State Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, as an assistant district attorney in the New York County (Manhattan) district attorney’s office, and as a teacher. Shimsky served on the Westchester County board of legislators for 12 years.[1][2]
