I represent the City of Binghamton, and the Towns of Vestal and Union in the State Assembly and am completing my 10th term. I have a number of leadership positions in the Assembly including Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Co-Chair of the Legislative Aviation Caucus. My husband Scott Peters is a Professor at Cornell University; we Iive in Endwell with our cat Zuzu.

  • I am a committed pubic servant who works hard every day.
  • I work across party lines to collaborate and find practical solutions to the challenges we face.
  • I am proud of the successes we have had and want to continue delivering needed resources to our community.

Workforce Development, Housing, Child Care, Long Term Care, Poverty Reduction, Agriculture & Food, Climate Change, Transportation, Infrastructure…

Honesty, integrity, engagement, commitment, communication, and hard work.

To reflect the needs and interests of the residents of the 123rd AD during the budget and legislative process.

Outmigration, high property taxes, workforce and housing shortages, struggling essential services like long-term care, child care., and EMS.

It’s not essential but certainly is helpful. I served one term as a County Legislator which gave me a better understanding of the challenges that municipalities face, such as state mandates.

There really is no other way to build coalitions around important statewide issues. I have done this with our #RescueEMS campaign for example. My work on the Agriculture Committee absolutely depends on bi-partisan relationships in order to get things done,

Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, AFL-CIO, NYSUT, CWA, National Federation of Independent Business, Planned Parenthood, Family Planning, AFSME, PEF, CSEA, Carpenters Union, Police Conference of NY….

The ones that I currently serve on: Agriculture, Economic Development, Higher Education, Transportation and Rules.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in New York

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
