Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Career-high sack total in '24
Vea finished the 2024 regular season with 42 tackles (27 solo), including 7.0 sacks, and one defensed pass across 16 games.
The veteran defensive tackle added a solo tackle over 47 snaps in the Buccaneers' wild-card loss to the Commanders. During the regular season, Vea continued to profile as one of the best interior pass rushers in the league, setting a new career high in sacks while exceeding 5.0 sacks for the third straight season. Vea's tackle total was also the second highest of his career, and unless the Buccaneers opt to exercise an out in his deal this offseason at a dead cap hit of $11.5 million, Vea is due to play out the 2025 season in his usual capacity on the interior of Tampa Bay's defensive front.

Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Sets new career best in sacks
Vea recorded three tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, in the Buccaneers' 27-19 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Vea finished the 2024 season with a new career high in sacks (7.0) thanks to Sunday's takedown of Spencer Rattler. The 2018 first-round pick also compiled the second-highest tackle total (42) of his career, and Vea figures to continue serving a critical pass-rushing and run-stuffing presence when the Buccaneers welcome in the Commanders for Sunday night's wild-card showdown.

Buccaneers' Vita Vea: Ready for Sunday
Vea (hip) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the 49ers, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Vea practiced in a limited fashion throughout the week due to a hip injury; however, it now appears he'll play through the issue Sunday. The Washington product has impressed through eight games this season, recording 30 total tackles, including 5.0 sacks, and one pass defended. Expect Vea to serve as Tampa Bay's top interior defensive lineman in Week 10.

Vea (hip) was a limited participant at the Buccaneers' practice Wednesday.
Vea recorded a season-high 10 total tackles (seven solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Monday's 30-24 loss to Kansas City. The defensive lineman appears to have picked up a hip injury in the contest and he'll look to raise his participation level at the team's final two practices of the week before Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

Vea added another impressive chapter to his career in Week 9, amassing double digits in the tackle department for his first time as a pro. His two sacks were also his fourth and fifth over the last six games. While it might not always show in the box score quite like it did Monday, Vea remains one of the most impactful defensive players in football heading into a Week 10 tilt versus the 49ers.

Vea was a late addition to Tampa Bay's injury report Saturday, when he apparently picked up a hamstring issue, but it seems like he'll suit up in Week 7 regardless. It's bad news for Baltimore's rushing attack, as Vea is as impactful against the run as any other player in the league.
