Description
本願は、すべての趣旨についてこの全体が参照として本明細書に組み込まれる米国仮特許出願第61/906,380号(2013年11月19日出願)の優先権を主張する。
可視領域に調整でき;InAsを含む半導体ナノ結晶は、赤外領域に調整できる。発光できる量子ドット集団の狭いサイズ分布は、狭いスペクトル範囲の光の発光をもたらすことができる。この集団は単分散性であることができ、こうした量子ドットの直径において、好ましくは15%rms(二乗平均平方根)未満、より好ましくは10%未満、最も好ましくは5%未満の偏差を示す。可視領域で発光するこうした量子ドットに関して、約75nm以下、好ましくは約60nm以下、より好ましくは約40nm以下、最も好ましくは約30nm以下の半値全幅(FWHM)が観察できる。IR発光量子ドットは、150nm以下、または100nm以下のFWHMを有することができる。発光エネルギーの観点で表される場合、発光は0.05eV以下、または0.03eV以下のFWHMを有することができる。発光の幅は、発光量子ドット直径の分散性が低下するにつれて低下する。
Claims (35)
- 1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の粒子を囲むガラスを含む表面を含み、
前記粒子がホスト材料にカプセル化され、前記ガラスがカプセル化粒子を囲む、ルミネッセンス粒子。 - 前記粒子の量は、前記ホスト材料の0.05質量%以上および10質量%以下である、請求項1に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 前記ホスト材料は、予備選択された光に対して少なくとも部分的に透明であるポリマー材料から選択される、請求項1または2に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 前記ホスト材料は、非硬化性樹脂、熱硬化性樹脂、または光硬化性樹脂を含む、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一つに記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 前記ホスト材料は、メラミン樹脂、フェノール樹脂、アルキル樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリウレタン樹脂、マレイン樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリアクリレート、ポリカーボネート、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルピロリドン、ヒドロキシエチルセルロース、カルボキシメチルセルロース、これらの樹脂を形成するモノマーまたはオリゴマーを含有するコポリマー、またはこれらの組み合わせを含む、請求項1乃至4のいずれか一つに記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の粒子を囲み、ガラス固化(vitrified)された金属酸化物を含むガラスを含む表面を含むルミネッセンス粒子。
- ルミネッセンス粒子が、ガラスに分配された1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の粒子を含む、請求項1または6に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 発光ナノ材料の少なくとも1つが量子ドットを含む、請求項1、6または7に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 発光ナノ材料の少なくとも1つがナノ蛍光体を含む、請求項1、6または7に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 前記粒子の量は、前記ホスト材料の0.1質量%以上である、請求項2に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- ガラスがビトリファイドヒュームド金属酸化物を含む、請求項1または6に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- ガラスが熱分解により形成される、請求項1または6に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- ガラスがシリカグラスを含む、請求項1または6に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- ガラスが黒鉛化副生成物を含まないまたは実質的に含まない、請求項1または請求項6に記載のルミネッセンス粒子。
- 請求項1のルミネッセンス粒子を製造するための方法であって、前記方法が、ガスストリーム中に、1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の少なくとも一部の外側表面の少なくとも一部にガラス固化ガラスを形成するための前駆体を含む前記1つ以上の発光材料の1つ以上の粒子を懸濁させる工程およびガスストリーム中に懸濁した1つ以上の発光材料の1つ以上の少なくとも一部の外側表面の少なくとも一部上の前記前駆体を熱分解し、前記前駆体をガラス固化ガラスに転化して、前記ルミネッセンス粒子を形成する工程を含み、
粒子がガラスをこの上に形成するための前駆体を優先的に含むホスト材料中にカプセル化される方法。 - 前駆体がガラス固化可能な金属酸化物を含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前駆体がガラス固化可能なヒュームド金属酸化物を含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の粒子を囲むガラスを含む表面を含むルミネッセンス粒子を製造するための方法であって、前記方法が、ガスストリーム中に、1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の少なくとも一部の外側表面の少なくとも一部にガラス固化ガラスを形成するための前駆体を含む前記1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の粒子を懸濁させる工程およびガスストリーム中に懸濁した1つ以上の発光ナノ材料の1つ以上の少なくとも一部の外側表面の少なくとも一部上の前記前駆体を熱分解し、前記前駆体をガラス固化ガラスに転化して、前記ルミネッセンス粒子を形成する工程を含む方法。
- 前記熱分解の工程が、熱分解炉において少なくとも部分的に行われる、請求項15または18に記載の方法。
- 前記熱分解の工程が火炎熱分解を含む、請求項15または18に記載の方法。
- 発光ナノ材料の少なくとも1つが量子ドットを含む、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 発光ナノ材料の少なくとも1つがナノ蛍光体を含む、請求項18に記載の方法。
