Laval National / National de Laval

The Laval National, or National de Laval, were a major junior hockey team that played out of the Colisée de Laval during the 1970s. Originally known as the Rosemont National when they launched in 1969 in Rosemont, Quebec, the team relocated to Laval in 1971. For eight seasons, from 1971 to 1979, they played under the National name, with logos that evolved over time but generally featured two hockey sticks forming an "L" and a mirrored, backwards "L". The team found moderate success on the ice, making the playoffs in five of their eight seasons, though they never captured a league title during this period.

While the National didn’t produce a large number of NHL players, they are particularly known for one standout—Mike Bossy. Bossy played four-plus seasons with the team before being drafted by the New York Islanders in 1977, going on to become one of the most prolific scorers in NHL history.
