Zacian debuted in Sword and Shield, Slumbering Weald!, when Ash encountered it in the Slumbering Weald after getting separated from Goh. After getting no data on Zacian from his Rotom Phone, Ash attempted to battle it with Pikachu, only for the attack to pass through Zacian before it disappeared.
In Sword and Shield: From Here to Eternatus!, Goh and Sonia arrived at the Slumbering Weald requesting the help of it and Zamazenta to deal with the Darkest Day crisis that had befallen Galar. Zacian appeared alongside Zamazenta and led Goh and Sonia to the Altar where they found the Rusted Sword and Shield.
In Sword and Shield: The Legends Awaken!, by using the Rusted Sword, Zacian turned into its Crowned Sword form and battled alongside Zamazenta in its Crowned Shield form and was able to take down Eternatus, allowing it to be caught by Goh. After the battle, Ash and Goh returned the Rusty Sword and Shield to the Altar.
