I was contacted recently by DJ Park who is working on developing a fun and user friendly way to shop the clothing and accessories that you see in photos online called Envvied. He asked if we would like to give it a try to see how we like it. After checking out how it all works I really like where DJ is going with Envvied. I think it could be a really great way to start a conversation about and find where to purchase the items we see and want in photos.

Nicholas does leather working under the name Hank Goods and Brenna is a yoga instructor here in Seattle.

You can find Nicholas' leather goods at the Hank Goods booth each Sunday at the Fremont Sunday Market until Christmas as well as at Ludlow Co. on Phinney Ridge.

5th & Pine

I haven't posted about food on here for a while. Don has been traveling for work and I have been in a rut of making the same old same at home. Well, last weekend Don was home and while running an errand mid morning we drove past a colorful new restaurant on 45th in Wallingford. Ever since Don's obsession with cooking traditional mexican food at home we have been equally fixated on trying to find the best taqueria in Seattle. This mission has lead us to some really great spots: Taqueria El Antojo on Hwy 99 in Lynnwood, Tacos El Asadero on Rainier and now... TNT Taqueria! 

TNT's menu was expansive and had a lot of great vegetarian options. They also source all of their meat and eggs from local farms. The chips and tortillas were made fresh from scratch in house and so was everything that came with them. The prices are higher than the other two taqueria's I mentioned above but it is a small price to pay for super fresh ingredients that come from right outside the city. We were so excited to find this little spot and we'll continue to break our new year's resolutions there often.

It's been a few years since I have run into Ifrah. I couldn't believe it when I passed her while walking in the residential stretch of road between Madison Park and Madison Valley where there wasn't another soul in sight.

Ifrah has such great style! Her sweater is an oldie snagged from her mom's closet.

You just can't go wrong with a classic pea coat. If you get a well made one you will be able to wear it forever because they are always in style.

Seattle's own Ashley Helvey is featured in the February issue of Martha Stewart Living as a Style Tastemaker. Good choice Martha! Ashley is an artist, stylist and founder of the website Huntergethererer.com. I was so excited to find out that they wanted to use this photo I took of Ashley a few years back in Old Ballard. 

The Seattle Times and I are sending out a call to readers! This contest is for all my fellow second hand shopping pros. Check out the how's and what's of the contest here.   A few years ago I introduced you all to designer Michael Cepress (well, those of you who didn't already know about him). So many exciting things have happened for him since then. Michael has moved his studio space from Capitol Hill down to the beautiful historic INSCAPE ARTS building behind Uwajimaya in the International District (photo location above), his work has been featured in numerous magazines, he is currently showing his work as a part of the Craft Biennial at the Bellevue Arts Museum and he recently found out that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis wore his designs in a shoot they did for OUT magazine. In other words; Michael is blowing up!

  Michael has big plans for what he wants to do with his next line which is going to include Men's and Women's clothing. I've seen some of the pieces he is working on and they are incredible. Rather than tell you about it, you should watch this gorgeous video and see for yourself what he has up his sleeve for us. What Michael has in mind for 2013 is a major undertaking and in order to make it all happen he started a Kickstarter campaign where you can pledge and take part in an exciting new piece of Seattle fashion history. If Michael reaches his Kickstarter goal, with your pledge not only will you get to know that you are helping make Seattle a more stylish place but you will also receive a gift ranging from original handmade MC designs to having a garment from the 2013 line named after you and then custom made in your size for you to keep.  Michael is bringing such beauty to this city and he is doing it with a passion that makes me beyond excited to watch it all happen.

A selection of my photos were featured recently in the Italian based fashion magazine Zoom On Fashion Trends. Seattleites should hold their heads high, aside from us the only other cities featured were London, Melbourne, New York and Paris.  

I ran into Katrina wearing this incredible vintage Pendleton coat on Broadway & Republican. Katrina is a stylist and designer based in LA. You can check her out here.

Madison Park

Caitlin moved to Seattle in the last year from NY. When she told me that she was an interior designer I asked her to send me a photo of something she had worked on. The below space is one that she took part in during her time with Drake Design Association in NY. I really like Caitlin's outlook on design. In her email to me with the photo she said "In my interiors (and my fashion sense is no different) I love to mix unexpected things but am sure there are some similar elements to tie everything together. In moving to Seattle, it has become my mission to bring a colorful and exciting fashion to Seattle's common monochromatic interiors!"

Dennis runs his marketing company out Capitol Hill co-working space Agness Underground. Those places sound like they would be so much fun to go to work at.

Westlake Transit Station

Corey and her friend Samantha run a really great Nordic travel blog called Takk Travels. It's a beautiful glimpse into the adventures that they have exploring over there including a lot of photos from cafes that they stop in along the way.

Unfortunately the bus came as I was taking this gentleman's photo so I didn't catch his name or get to hear the story behind this great hat. What a shame...

49th & University

Courtney is just stunning. I took her photo a while back at the U-District street festival. When I put these photos on my computer I got curious what this hairstyle is called. It is victory rolls on the side and faux bangs in the front. Amazing, and I love the color she has chosen so much.

Courtney works at Lucky Vintage on the Ave. A really fun store that will instantly suck you in when you walk through the door. Definitely check it out if you are in the U-District or Ballard.

Suzanne, it seems, only travels in a pack of three and the friends she is with are always wonderfully stylish. Well, I'm speculating a bit... this is only the second time we've met. It was so nice to see her again and to take her photo with these two lovely ladies. I took her picture way back in 2009 at the South Lake Union Block Party.
