Abstract
430,972. Multiple fastenings. KAYE & SONS, Ltd., J., and COOPER, S., South Accommodation Road, Hunslet, near Leeds. March 15, 1935, No. 8020. [Class 44] Lock mechanism for doors &c. comprises a main bolt M, a latch bolt L, two bolts D<2>, D<3> working at right angles to the bolts M, L and a lock mechanism K adapted to obstruct the main bolt M and hold all four bolts in the locked position. The bolt M is moved by a lever M<1> on a handleactuated spindle and the bolt L is followeractuated from a separate handle. The bolts D2, D<3> are connected to the bolt M by bell-crank levers pivoted at C<2>, C<3>. When the bolts M, D<2>, D<3> are shot, a projection D<6> on the bolt D<2> blocks the latch L. The lock K has a tail piece K<2> with an extension K<3> which engages between the end of the bolt M and the casing B<4> to prevent withdrawal of the bolt M and consequently also the three other bolts. The bolts D<2>, D<3> have extensions, not shown, to engage the upper and lower frames of the doorway. The bell-crank levers and the lever M<1> have rounded ends to reduce friction.
