Description

The invention relates to a burglar-proof window, the window consisting of a stick frame firmly anchored in the masonry and one or more further movable window frames, the movable window frame accommodating glass panes, the stick frame being constructed from a plurality of laminated woods and on the outside of its lower, horizontal part carries a rain rail.

In the case of wooden windows of the conventional type, a rain rail, for example made of aluminum, sheet steel or die-cast zinc, is attached with the aid of a bracket attached to the rain rail and one Wood screw fastened by the vertical screwing of the wood screw in the firmly anchored stick frame (e.g. GB-A-2 216 164). This screwing takes place in several places, so that the screws can neither be seen from the outside nor loosened when the window is closed. The vertical screwing in results in a reduction in the stability of the horizontal, lower part of the frame, since the wood fibers are damaged when the screws are screwed in. There is a risk of the wood splintering when the wood screw is screwed in. Particularly when a plurality of wood screws are used to attach the rain rail, there is a possibility that the splintering of the wood will result in a notch effect in the frame, whereby an increase in the number of screws does not increase the stability or the fastening forces of the rain rail on the frame leads. Prying out the rain rail in the event of a break-in is therefore relatively easy.

The invention has set itself the task of improving a burglar-proof window of the type mentioned above in such a way that a violent release of the rain rail from the frame is made more difficult. Particular attention was paid to the fact that the external appearance of the window should not be affected by the invention.

The invention is based on a burglar-proof window and proposes that the lower, horizontal part of the stick frame has one or more holes that run from top to bottom and receive screws with nuts for screwing the rain rail on the lower, horizontal part of the stick frame.

This construction strengthens the anchoring of the rain rail, especially when using laminated wood for the frame. On the other hand, there is the screw the slat frame even more stability, since preferably several laminated woods are penetrated by the hole. Screwing with, for example, lock screws is only necessary at a few points on the frame in order to achieve a firm fit. This also results in labor savings.

Appropriate recesses in the masonry on the inside of the building mean that the nuts can still be accessed after installation. This means that the rain gutter can also be installed or changed after installation.

It has proven to be advantageous if the bore runs obliquely from the top downwards and the nuts are accessible from the outer circumference of the frame. In this way it is achieved that several lamella wood are gripped by the bore and the screw cannot be loosened from the outside. In this way, the nuts are protected from the masonry when installed.

It is advantageous if the bore at its mouth on the underside of the horizontal, lower part of the frame has an extension to accommodate the nut. In this way, the mother does not protrude beyond the frame after assembly, which proves to be particularly advantageous when transporting and processing the frame.

It is desirable if the rain rail lies in the closed state of the window in the area of the lower edge of the movable window frame and forms a smooth outer surface. It is difficult to attach a chisel or the like to pry off the rain rail and it cannot be penetrated into a gap between the movable and fixed frame part. Smooth, continuous surfaces are also desirable for optical reasons, since they can easily be clad with a layer of wood or the like, and so on form a uniform exterior with the rest of the window frame. This is particularly advantageous when renovating old buildings.

The rain rail is a commercially available profile that has an inner web and an outer web, the two webs being connected at a distance from one another by at least two legs, the outer web abutting the movable wing and the inner web with the head the screw cooperates, the outer web covering the screw head. With this design, the hole for receiving the screw in the rain rail sits on the inner web. The rain rail has openings on the legs at intervals so that any rain water that has penetrated can run off.

Other weak points of a window are the relatively thin locking pin on the window handle, which can be easily torn off, and the anchoring of the movable frame parts in the frame.

The conventional locking pins have a relatively small diameter, so that they can be turned off with the appropriate application of force and the window can be unlocked. This is advantageously achieved in that a window handle with a reinforced locking pin is provided on the window. A thicker version of the locking pin in the area of the guide through the frame represents effective burglary protection.

It is advantageous if anchoring elements are provided on the window, which act between the movable frame and the stick frame, opposite frame parts having anchoring elements arranged opposite one another. These anchoring elements work together with blocks that are provided between the window frame and the glass pane in the area of the anchoring elements.

In the case of generic, burglar-proof windows, the anchoring elements are arranged on all sides and hold the swivel sash in the frame in the closed position. The anchoring is released with the help of the lockable window handles mentioned above via the locking pins and a corresponding linkage which connects the individual anchoring elements to one another.

If, for example, an intrusion is attempted to use a chisel or lever in the area of the anchoring elements, the block, which is arranged in the area of the anchoring elements, causes a frictional connection over the pane and the opposing blocks with the anchoring elements on the opposite side of the window. In this way, the glass pane cannot be moved.

In one embodiment of the invention, the laminated woods which form the frame have contact surfaces which lie against one another, these contact surfaces being essentially parallel to the axis of the bore. In another embodiment of the invention, the contact surface forms an essentially right angle with the axis of the bore. Both embodiments have in common that the bore, the axis of which deviates slightly from the horizontal or vertical, penetrates several lamella layers of the frame wood. This achieves additional strengthening of the frame. For example, the bore essentially runs from top to bottom.

2 shows a top view of a latch according to FIG. 2.

The window consists essentially of the frame 1, which is firmly anchored in the masonry, and the movable window frame 9, which receives the glass panel 20.

The lower, horizontal part 7 of the frame 1 has the bore 2. The frame 1 consists of a plurality of laminated woods 40. It is also possible that plastic slats are also used here, which embodiment is not included in the scope of protection as defined in the claims. The bore 2 serves to receive the screw 3 and the nut 4, an extension 8 being provided for the nut 4 on the underside 6. So the nut 4 is not in the assembled state beyond the bottom 6 of the frame. The extension 8 can also be accessible, for example, after installation through a corresponding recess in the masonry.

The stick frame 1 has a vertical or horizontal lamination, the bore 2 covering several of the laminated wood layers 40. The axis 21 of the bore 2 runs essentially from top to bottom and is slightly inclined inwards in the lower region. The screw 3 is, for example, a machine lock screw with a corresponding one Nut 4. The screw 3 holds the rain rail 5 on the outside 22 of the window frame. The rain rail 5 has a bore 23 in the leg 14 through which the screw 3 is guided.

The rain rail 5 essentially consists of an inner web 10, an outer web 11, the legs 13 and 14 and the rain drain edge 24. The webs 10 and 11 are arranged at a distance from one another and connected to one another via the legs 13 and 14. The leg 13 also has passages 25 through which penetrated rainwater can flow off. Further passages 26 are provided in the area of the connection between the web 11 and the rain drain edge 24. The outer web 11 rests with its upper end 27 on the lower edge of the movable wing 12, which has a fold 28, for example. Thus, in the closed state of the window, the gap between the floor frame 1 and the movable window frame 9 is completely covered, the rain rail 5 forming a smooth surface on the outside. No burglary tool can be attached to such a smooth surface, and it is also suitable for applying a veneer. This facing can be made of wood, for example, whereby the rain protection rail is aligned with the frame. Grooves 41 and 42 are provided in the movable frame 9 for receiving glass panes 20 and the like. These grooves also receive the blocks 18 and 19.

The rain rail 5 is a commercially available profile that can be easily installed. Fastening using screw 3 is only necessary at a few points.

This prevents the window olive from shearing off the gear. The parts are in precisely fitting holes in the wood of the movable window frame 9th led and cause that the lockable window handle can not be turned off by a jerky movement.

In the closed and locked state of the window, several anchoring elements 16 and 17 are effective, which hold the movable window frame 9 in the frame 1. The anchoring elements 16 and 17 are arranged at relatively short intervals on the horizontal and vertical parts of the window frame and lie opposite one another. In the area of the anchoring elements 16 and 17, blocks 18 and 19 are provided which hold the glass pane 20 in the movable window frame 9. By the blocks 18 and 19, a frictional connection between the opposite anchoring elements 16 and 17 is achieved. This frictional connection takes place via the glass pane 20. This prevents the glass pane 20 from moving, thereby avoiding a possible point of attack for penetration through the window.

The operation of the anchoring element 16, 17 is shown in an outbreak of FIG. 3. The linkage 43 moves a pin 45 along the double arrow 44 into a fixed sleeve 46 of the frame 1. The linkage 43 is driven by the window handle.
