Description

The present invention relates to a rung frame pivotally attached to a window or door leaf according to the preamble of independent claim 1.

When renovating older buildings, it is often required that the windows are provided in proper style, namely with plastic rungs on the outer surface. If the glazing consists of so-called insulating glass panes, which are usually formed as double or triple glazing, it is easy to understand that these special glazing can not be dimensioned to the small conventional dimensions of the panes. It has therefore become known to fasten such rungs on the outside of the glass panes.

For cleaning the glass surfaces, however, it is of great advantage if the rungs are held in a removable manner. A corresponding proposal. is published in FR-A-2157210. Accordingly, the rungs are interconnected in a rung frame and the rung frames are hinged to a longitudinal spar by means of hinges on the casement. The other longitudinal spar is then screwed to the casement. According to this proposal, these fittings are visible from the outside, so that the imitation of real rungs can be seen from a distance.

The subdivision of the windows with rungs has shown an advantage to make it more difficult for thieves to creep in, especially today. With such an obvious assembly, breaking in is not made more difficult.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a solution for the fastening of the rung frames which is not visible from the outside.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features in claim 1.

An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a rung frame according to the invention with its attachment to the casement
  • FIG. 2 is a sectional view in a horizontal sectional plane through a window with a frame according to FIG. 1
  • 3 and 4 in plan view two sections of the rung frame of FIG. 1st
  • 5 shows a sectional view from FIG. 1 and corresponding to FIG. 2
  • Fig. 6 shows a corner corresponding to Fig. 3 in a cut away with a detail for securing the hinge pin.

An exemplary embodiment of a window is shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the rung frame being pivotable and the rungs being arranged close to the outer glass panel 8. 1 shows the sash frame 1 and the rung frame 14 with the longitudinal spars 15 and the rung cross 16; as well as parts of the hinges 17 and rung frame locking parts.

In Figure 2 one can see, starting from the left, the window frame 18, the casement 1, in which the rung frame lock 19 is fastened by means of screws 20, the rung frame 14 with a profile of the rung cross 16, and the outermost of the two or three glass panels 8. The cross section 20 of the rung frame 14 can be seen in particular from FIG. 9. It consists of two partial profiles 21 and 22, which form a double frame, the first profile 21 protruding beyond the casement and its surface 23 abutting the casement 1 and the thickness of the second profile adapted to the distance between the outer surface of the casement and the outermost glass panel is to leave a margin of a few millimeters and is arranged within the casement. The body 24 of the lock 19 is angled and thereby has an inner edge 25 and sits on the inner edge of the casement. The pin 26 can also be seen, see also FIG. 3, which is inserted through an opening 27 in the body 24. In Figure 3, a closure part in the longitudinal leg 15 of the rung frame 14 is shown. In the recess 27 in the longitudinal leg 15, a U-shaped bracket 28 is arranged, which carries the pin 26 at the top and into which an actuating member such as a screw 29 or the like is screwed at the bottom and which serves to move the pin and thus the rung frame lock or unlock. From Figure 3 in particular it can also be seen that the U-shaped holder must be installed before the rung frame is assembled.

If one looks at the hinge side of FIG. 2 and FIG. 4, one can see that the hinge body 30 is constructed in the same way as the body 24 of the locking part 19, with the difference, of course, that the hinge pin 31 cannot slide out of the hinge body. Figure 2 also shows the sash joint 32. The rung frame 1 with the crossbar may be made of aluminum profiles or other suitable materials.

With the intended construction of the hinge, no part can be seen from the front and the rung cross can be arranged as close as desired to the outermost glass panel. Only the two screws 29 are visible from the outside, that is to say from the side, but they can be painted with the same color as the window and are therefore completely inconspicuous. Since the rung frame can no longer be removed, it cannot be left out for the sake of convenience or forgetfulness, so that the desired historical appearance and sufficient security against burglary are always guaranteed.

It is also possible within the scope of this invention to secure the cross bars in the closed state and thereby create an additional anti-theft device if the rungs are solid enough. In the execution ge 10 shows an embodiment of such a fuse. One recognizes in it a closure part with the U-shaped holder 28 with the pin 26, while the same parts are designated as above. A metal sleeve 33 with a thread 34 is attached in the longitudinal spar 15 of the rung frame 14. An Allen screw 35 is screwed into the thread, which, in the state shown, presses on the U-shaped part 28 and makes it impossible to unlock it. The sleeve 33 is closed at the top with a plastic closure 36 which on the one hand prevents the ingress of water and dust and on the other hand makes it difficult to access the Allen screw. However, even penetrating the metal sleeve with any tool would not make it possible to loosen the Allen screw when the frame was closed, since the distance between the top edge of the Allen screw and the upper edge of the longitudinal leg is greater than the distance between the upper edge of the leg 14 from the top edge of the frame 1.

It is possible to carry out the securing in other ways, for example by attaching the Allen screw in the uppermost part of the longitudinal leg or by using a securing part which works on the principle of the bayonet lock. This part can have two cams at the bottom, which engage in a groove running all around on the partial profile 21 and which slide out along two longitudinal grooves when the part is lifted out after rotation.

It is also possible within the scope of the invention to choose a different rung arrangement instead of a rung cross, in particular also for a door.
