A Clown (Japanese: ピエロ Pierrot) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in the Generation IV games. They are found throughout Jubilife City, but only Clown Lee from the TV station can be battled outside of battle facilities. Clowns are depicted as men in orange clown suits. A Coin Case can be received through a Clown in Veilstone City.

True to their costumes, they have Pokémon that reference circus performers and circus animals, with Mr. Mime and Mime Jr. being particularly popular among them.

They are similar to the Juggler and Harlequin classes.

Diamond & Pearl arc

While passing through Jubilife City on his way to Lake Verity in Licking Lickitung, Diamond met three Clowns and the Pokétch Co. President. The Clowns were part of a campaign for the Pokétch Company, somewhat similar to three Coupon Clowns situated in Jubilife City from the games.
