Definitions
- the present invention relates to an airbag device installed in a vehicle in order to protect an occupant at the time of a vehicle collision, for example.
- upper and lower mean the head direction of the occupant seated in the seat in a normal state
- lower and lower mean the foot direction
- front and front mean the front side direction of the occupant seated in the seat in a normal state
- rear mean the rear side direction
- Left and left direction mean the direction of the left hand side of the occupant seated in the seat in a regular state
- right and “right direction” mean the direction of the right hand side.
- the side airbag device protects the occupant by suppressing the movement of the occupant in the direction in which the impact acts when the vehicle collides from the side (hereinafter referred to as a side collision).
- the said side airbag apparatus is installed in the side inside of the backrest part (henceforth a seat back) of a seat.
- This side airbag device has a configuration in which, for example, in a side collision, an inflator is activated by an output signal transmitted from a sensor that detects an impact to generate gas, and the airbag is deployed to the side of a passenger seated in the seat. .
- the rotation of the airbag after deployment is suppressed, for example, when the passenger is seated only in the driver's seat compared to when the passenger is seated in the driver's seat and passenger seat. This is especially necessary when there is an empty seat.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a first tether having one end connected to the upper position of the seat and the other end connected to the front position of the airbag, one end at the lower position of the seat, and the other end to the air.
- a side airbag device provided with a second tether connected to the front position of the bag is disclosed.
- the first tether and the second tether hold the deployed airbag and suppress the rotation of the airbag in the direction away from the seat. .
- Patent Document 2 discloses a side airbag device that supports a rear end surface of an airbag by a support member fixed to a seat frame, and restricts rotation of a leading end side of the airbag in a direction away from a seat by a tether. ing.
- the airbag after deployment is held by the support member and the tether, and the rotation of the airbag in the direction away from the seat is suppressed.
- Patent Document 3 discloses a side airbag device configured to pull the support plate by a strap spanned between the airbag and the support plate and rotate the storage plate from the storage position to the protruding position as the airbag is deployed. Is disclosed. In the case of the side airbag device disclosed in Patent Document 3, the deployed airbag is received by the support plate rotated to the protruding position, and the rotation of the airbag in the direction away from the seat is suppressed.
- the tether is not supported by the intermediate portion of the tether, but is connected to the airbag at one end and the seat (seat frame) at the other end. . Therefore, when an occupant collides with the deployed airbag, the airbag is rotated in the direction away from the seat with the connection position of the tether with the seat (seat frame) as a fulcrum. In this case, the moment of force for rotating the distal end side of the airbag in the direction away from the seat becomes large, and the rotation cannot be sufficiently suppressed.
- the present invention solves the above-mentioned problems, does not increase the man-hours required for installing the airbag device, effectively holds the deployed airbag by the tether, and moves away from the airbag seat after deployment.
- the purpose is to suppress rotation in the direction as much as possible.
- the present invention is an airbag device installed at least inside the backrest of the seat.
- the airbag device has a base end attached to a seat back frame provided inside the backrest portion, and a front end side that is deployed in a first direction away from the backrest portion, and is provided inside the airbag.
- An inflator that receives a signal from the sensor to generate gas and deploys the airbag is provided.
- a tether that is attached to the seatback frame and a bracket that is attached to the seat back frame and that is provided along the direction in which the tether extends are further provided.
- the tether is supported by a front end portion of the bracket.
- the airbag since the tether is supported by the front end portion of the bracket, the airbag after being deployed in the first direction (for example, the direction away from the seat backrest portion) rotates away from the seat.
- the fulcrum when doing this is the front end of the bracket. Therefore, the moment of the rotational force is reduced, and the rotation can be effectively suppressed.
- one end of the tether is configured to be sandwiched between the bracket and the seat frame.
- bracket can be attached to the seat back frame simultaneously with the attachment of the airbag module to the seat back frame, the number of man-hours required for installation does not increase.
- the bracket is provided with a hole through which the stud bolt of the inflator is passed or a screw hole to be fitted with the stud bolt, it can be easily attached to the seat back frame.
- the bracket may be provided on any of the lateral part outer side, the lateral part inner side, and the upper edge part of the seat back frame.
- the inner side of the side portion of the seat back frame refers to the center side in the left-right direction of the seat at the side portion
- the outer side portion of the side portion of the seat back frame refers to the anti-center side of the seat in the lateral portion.
- the upper edge portion of the seat back frame refers to either the upper part of the side part of the seat back frame or the upper member of the seat back frame.
- the tether is provided on the passenger side of the airbag, it is possible to effectively suppress the airbag after deployment from rotating in a direction away from the seat.
- the airbag device of the present invention includes a side airbag device, a shroud-type airbag device integrally including a protection chamber that covers the head of the occupant and a side protection chamber that protects the side of the occupant, and both sides of the occupant.
- the present invention can be applied to an airbag device having an airbag to be protected.
- the present invention is a side airbag device
- it may be installed either on the far side of the seat back or on the near side of the seat back, but it is more effective when installed on the far side. can do.

- FIG. 4 shows the other Example of the airbag apparatus of this invention applied to the side airbag apparatus.
- FIG. 4 shows
- the conventional side airbag devices that suppress rotation in a direction away from the seat of the airbag when the occupant collides with the deployed airbag, the one that suppresses the rotation by the tether has a moment of torque. It is large and the suppression of the rotation is not sufficient.
- the one that suppresses the rotation by rotating the support plate to the protruding position needs to install a support plate and a bracket that rotatably holds the support plate separately from the installation of the airbag module. Man-hours required for installation increase.
- the present invention supports a tether having one end attached to a seat back frame and the other end attached to the front end side in the deployment direction on the outer surface of the airbag, for example, by a front end portion of a bracket attached to the seat back frame. This solves the above-mentioned problem.
- FIG. 1 to 4 are views for explaining a first embodiment when the airbag apparatus of the present invention is applied to a side airbag apparatus.
