Abstract
Description
本出願は、2019年3月28日に出願された韓国特許出願第10-2019-0036126号に基づいた優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示された全ての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
リチウムニッケルコバルトマンガン系酸化物を正極活物質として含む正極;
炭素系負極活物質を含む負極;
前記負極及び正極の間に介在される分離膜;及び
リチウム塩、有機溶媒及び添加剤を含む非水電解液を含み、
前記有機溶媒が10重量%以上のフルオロエチレンカーボネート及び20重量%以下のエチレンカーボネートを含み、
前記添加剤がプロペンスルトン及びリチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレートを含むことを特徴とする。
本発明に係る正極は、正極活物質としてリチウムニッケルコバルトマンガン系酸化物を含む。具体的には、前記正極は、正極活物質としてリチウムニッケルコバルトマンガン系酸化物を含む正極活物質層を含んでよく、必要に応じて、前記正極活物質層は、導電材及び/又はバインダーをさらに含んでよい。

前記化学式1中、前記M1は、遷移金属サイトに置換されたドーピング元素であり、W、Cu、Fe、V、Cr、Ti、Zr、Zn、Al、In、Ta、Y、La、Sr、Ga、Sc、Gd、Sm、Ca、Ce、Nb、Mg、B、及びMoよりなる群から選択される1種以上の元素であってよい。
次に、負極に対して説明する。
次に、非水電解液に対して説明する。本発明に係るリチウム二次電池は、有機溶媒、添加剤及びリチウム塩を含む非水電解液を含む。
本発明に係るリチウム二次電池は、前記正極及び負極の間に分離膜を含む。
実施例1
(非水電解液の製造)
エチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):ジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を20:10:70の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒98gに、LiPF6を1.4Mとなるように溶解させた後、添加剤としてプロペンスルトン(PRS)1g、リチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレート(LiFMDFB)1gを添加し、本発明の非水電解液を製造した(下記表1参照)。
N-メチルピロリドン溶媒中で正極活物質(LiNi0.5Co0.3Mn0.2O2)、導電材(カーボンブラック)及びバインダー(PVdF)を97:1.7:1.3の重量比率で混合し、正極スラリー(固形分含量70重量%)を製造した。前記正極スラリーを厚さが10μmの正極集電体(Al薄膜)に塗布し、乾燥及びロールプレス(roll press)を実施して正極を製造した(下記表1参照)。
負極活物質(グラファイト):導電材(カーボンブラック):バインダー(PVDF)を96:0.5:3.5重量比で蒸溜水に添加し、負極スラリー(固形分含量50重量%)を製造した。前記負極活物質スラリーを厚さが8μmの負極集電体である銅(Cu)薄膜に塗布し、乾燥して負極を製造した後、ロールプレス(roll press)を実施して負極を製造した。
前述の方法で製造した正極と負極をポリエチレン多孔性フィルムと共に順次積層する通常の方法で電極組立体を製造した後、これをパウチ型二次電池ケースに収納し、前記製造された非水電解液を注入する。
非水電解液の製造時に非水性有機溶媒としてエチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):ジエチルカーボネートを15:15:70の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒を用いた点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時に非水性有機溶媒としてエチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):エチルプロピオネート(EP):プロピルプロピオネート(PP)を20:10:25:45の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒を用いた点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時に添加剤としてプロペンスルトン(PRS)1g、リチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレート(LiFMDFB)1g、プロパンスルトン(PS)3g及びスクシノニトリル(SN)5gを添加した点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時にプロペンスルトン(PRS)及びリチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレート(LiFMDFB)を添加しない点を除いては、前記実施例4と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。

非水電解液の製造時にリチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレート(LiFMDFB)を添加しない点を除いては、前記実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時に非水性有機溶媒としてエチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):ジエチルカーボネートを30:5:65の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒を用いた点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時に非水性有機溶媒としてエチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):ジエチルカーボネートを30:10:60の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒を用いた点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
非水電解液の製造時に非水性有機溶媒としてエチレンカーボネート(EC):フルオロエチレンカーボネート(FEC):ジエチルカーボネートを20:5:75の重量比で混合した非水性有機溶媒を用いた点を除いては、実施例1と同一の方法でパウチ型二次電池を製造した(下記表1参照)。
実験例1.高温/高電圧サイクル特性
前記実施例1から4及び比較例1から6で製造されたそれぞれの二次電池を45℃でCC/CV、0.7Cの条件で4.35V(0.05Cカットオフ(cut off))で充電を実施した。続けて、CC、0.5Cの条件で3.0Vとなるまで放電を実施した。前記充電及び放電挙動を1サイクルとし、このようなサイクルを200回実施しながら、200回での放電容量を測定し、初期設計容量対比容量維持率(%)を測定した。測定の結果は、下記[表2]に示した(初期設計容量4300mAh)。
前記実施例1から4及び比較例1から6で製造されたそれぞれの二次電池を45℃でCC/CV、0.7Cの条件で4.35V(0.05Cカットオフ)で充電を実施した。続けて、CC、0.5Cの条件で3.0Vとなるまで放電を実施した。前記充電及び放電挙動を1サイクルとし、このようなサイクルを200回実施した後、遷移金属溶出量を測定した。
前記実施例1から4及び比較例1から6で製造されたそれぞれの電池を4.35Vで充電した後、これを60℃で約3週間保管した後、初期容量対比残存容量維持率及びスウェリング特性を評価した。評価の結果は、下記表4に示した。
Claims (13)
- リチウムニッケルコバルトマンガン系酸化物を正極活物質として含む正極;炭素系負極活物質を含む負極;前記負極及び正極の間に介在される分離膜;及び、リチウム塩、有機溶媒及び添加剤を含む非水電解液を含むリチウム二次電池であり、
前記有機溶媒は、10重量%以上のフルオロエチレンカーボネート及び20重量%以下のエチレンカーボネートを含み、
前記添加剤は、プロペンスルトン及びリチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレートを含み、
駆動電圧が4.35V以上である、リチウム二次電池。 - 前記フルオロエチレンカーボネートは、有機溶媒の全体重量を基準として10重量%から40重量%で含まれるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記フルオロエチレンカーボネートは、有機溶媒の全体重量を基準として10重量%から30重量%で含まれるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記エチレンカーボネートは、有機溶媒の全体重量を基準として10重量%から20重量%で含まれるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記プロペンスルトンは、前記非水電解液の全体重量を基準として0.5重量%から5重量%で含まれるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記リチウムフルオロマロン酸(ジフルオロ)ボレートは、前記非水電解液の全体重量を基準として0.1重量%から3重量%で含まれるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記有機溶媒は、線状カーボネート溶媒、プロピオネート系溶媒又はこれらの組み合わせをさらに含むものである、リチウム二次電池。
- 前記有機溶媒は、
エチレンカーボネート10から20重量%、
フルオロエチレンカーボネート10から40重量%、及び
線状カーボネート40から80重量%を含むものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記有機溶媒は、エチレンカーボネート、フルオロエチレンカーボネート及びプロピオネート系溶媒を含むものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記プロピオネート系溶媒は、エチルプロピオネート及びプロピルプロピオネートを含むものである、請求項9に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記エチルプロピオネートに対する前記プロピルプロピオネートの重量比が1以上である、請求項10に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記有機溶媒は、
フルオロエチレンカーボネート10から30重量%、
エチレンカーボネート10から20重量%、
エチルプロピオネート10から30重量%、及び
プロピルプロピオネート30から70重量%を含むものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記リチウムニッケルコバルトマンガン系酸化物は、下記化学式1で表されるものである、請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池:

前記化学式1中、

Aは、F、Cl、Br、I、At及びSよりなる群から選択された1種以上の元素であり、
1.0≦x≦1.30、0.3≦y<1、0<z≦0.6、0<w≦0.6、0≦v≦0.2、0≦p≦0.2である。
