Abstract
Description
本出願は、2012年5月21日に提出された米国特許出願番号第61/649,546号、2012年8月20日に提出された米国特許出願番号第61/684,908号、および2013年3月14日に提出された米国特許出願番号第61/785,026号に関連するものであり、その開示全体が本明細書において引用により援用される。
本開示は、少なくとも部分的に、米国立衛生研究所(National Institute of Health)による認可番号NIHCA103769による米国政府の支援によってなされたものである。よって政府は、本明細書において記載および請求された開示に対する特定の権利を有する。
本開示の例示的実施形態は、1つまたはそれ以上の内腔器官の上または中に提供される、構造体の少なくとも一部分をイメージングするための装置、デバイスおよび方法に関し、より特定的にはカプセル顕微鏡検査の装置、デバイスおよび方法に関する。
OFDI技術の例示的使用
OFDIとは断面の干渉顕微鏡イメージング技術であり、反射される光を組織内の深さの関数として記録し(ユン,S.ら,オプティックス・エクスプレス(Opt Express),Vol.11,pp.2953−2963,2003を参照)、それはたとえば食道などの消化管組織における病理的診断を正確に行うために用いられ得る情報である(エヴァンス,J.A.ら,Gastrointest Endosc,Vol.65,pp.50−56,2007を参照)。図13(a)および図13(b)に示される、本開示の例示的実施形態に従う例示的OFDIシステムは、たとえば約1250nmから1380nmまで掃引する近赤外(near−infrared:NIR)波長などを用いて組織を照明してもよい。例示的な円周断面画像は、たとえば画像当り合計2048の軸方向(深度)走査などを用いて、たとえば20フレーム秒−1などにて取得してもよい。軸方向の解像度は、たとえば組織内で7μm(推定屈折率n=1.4)であってもよく、感度は約110dBであってもよい。さまざまな波長、数の軸方向走査を用いてもよく、本開示の範囲内にある解像度および感度を達成および/または使用してもよいことが理解されるべきである。
図13(a)に示すとおり、例示的カプセルをテザーに取付けてもよい。テザーにポリプロピレン(polypropylene:PP)のボールハンドルを付けてもよく、このボールハンドルはたとえば例示的カプセルから約60cmであってもよい。テザーは回転接合部において終止してもよく、回転接合部はイメージングコンソールおよびディスプレイに接続してもよい。ボールおよびテザーはともにカプセルの位置の制御を容易にでき、かつ手順が完了したときに被験者から例示的カプセルを抜き取るための手段を提供する。
被験者に例示的カプセル顕微内視鏡を飲み込んでもらい、次いで少量の水を飲んでもらった。オペレータがテザーを保持しながら、カプセルを食道から胃へと穏やかに下降させた。テザー上の5cm間隔のマークを用いて、カプセルと切歯との間の距離を記録した。カプセルがいつ胃に達したかを定めるために、例示的画像をリアルタイムで視覚化した。胃に入ると、イメージングを行いながらピルアップを食道から口へと徐々に引き戻した。たとえば、各被験者において4回のイメージングパスを行った(上方2回および下方2回)。イメージングの後、係留カプセルを除去し、GI内視鏡の消毒のための標準的手順に従って再使用のために消毒した(例、Cidex OPA(登録商標)に12分間沈める)。
Claims (22)
- 少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプル内の少なくとも一部分に対するデータを得るための装置であって、
前記少なくとも一部分に対して少なくとも1つの電磁放射線を送受信するように構成された第1の光学機器と、
前記少なくとも1つの電磁放射線を分散させるように構成された波長分散性の第2の機器と、
ピルの形状を有し、かつ前記第1および第2の機器を封入するハウジングと
を含む、装置。 - 外周部に接続されるテザー機器をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記テザーの位置、加速度または速度のうち少なくとも1つを追跡するように構成されたさらなる機器をさらに含む、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記装置の位置、加速度または速度のうち少なくとも1つを追跡するように構成されたさらなる機器をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 外周部に接続されるビデオカメラ機器をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプル内の少なくとも一部分に関するデータを得るための装置であって、
前記少なくとも一部分に対して少なくとも1つの電磁放射線を送受信するように構成された光学的な第1の機器と、
前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルから光学顕微鏡検査システムに少なくとも1つの戻り放射線を送るように構成された第2の機器とを含み、前記装置の外周部の少なくとも一部分はピルの形状を有し、前記装置はさらに、
前記外周部に接続されるテザー機器を含む、装置。 - 前記テザーは光ファイバ駆動軸を含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記光ファイバ駆動軸が回転して前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルの上に前記少なくとも1つの電磁放射線が特定のパターンを生じるようにさせるときに画像を生成するイメージング機器をさらに含む、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記テザーおよび前記ピルは、さらなるパターンを生成するように前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルに沿って移動し、前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルは、前記特定のパターンおよび前記さらなるパターンに基づいて前記画像を生成する、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記テザーの位置、加速度または速度のうち少なくとも1つである情報を追跡するように構成されたさらなる機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記情報に基づいて、前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルの画像を生成および補正するイメージング機器をさらに含む、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記テザーを圧縮することなく前記テザーをつかむことを容易にする、前記テザーに結合されるさらなる機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルにさらなる放射線を提供するように構成され、前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルに変化をもたらすさらなる機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の機器の少なくとも一部を回転させるように構成されたモータ機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記テザーに接続されたビデオカメラ機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
- OCT、SECM、OFDI、共焦点、2光子、3光子、蛍光、またはラマン・モダリティのうち少なくとも1つに基づいて、前記少なくとも1つの内腔または中空サンプルのさらなる画像を生成するイメージングの第3の機器をさらに含む、請求項6に記載の装置。
