ゲート絶縁膜140上には、複数のデータ線171をはじめとして、複数のドレーン電極175a、175b、175c、複数の結合電極176が形成されている。各データ線171は、主に縦方向に延設されており、各第1及び第2薄膜トランジスタQ1、Q2のドレーン電極175a、175bに向けて複数の分枝を出し、データ線171から拡張された第1及び第2薄膜トランジスタQ1、Q2のソース電極173aを有する。第1薄膜トランジスタQ1のドレーン電極175bは、画素領域の中央部まで延設されてている。第3薄膜トランジスタQ3のドレーン電極175cは、第3薄膜トランジスタQ3のゲート電極124cの上部に位置し、延長されて結合電極176と連結されており、ゲート電極124cを中心に第3薄膜トランジスタQ3のドレーン電極175cの向い側には第3薄膜トランジスタQ3のソース電極173cが形成されている。結合電極176は、第3薄膜トランジスタQ3のドレーン電極175cと連結され、広い面積に拡張されて維持電極136と重畳している。
また、保護膜180の下部には、ドレーン電極175a、175b及びソース電極173cを露出する接触孔235a、235b、233cを有する赤、緑及び青のカラーフィルター230が画素に順次形成されている。赤、緑、青のカラーフィルター230は、各々データ線171の上部に境界を置いて画素列に沿って縦に長く形成されており、隣り合うカラーフィルターがデータ線171上で互いに部分的に重なり、データ線171上で丘形状をなす構成とすることができる。この時、互いに重なっている赤、緑、青のカラーフィルター230は、隣り合う画素領域の間から漏れる光を遮断するブラックマトリックスの機能を有することができる。したがって、本実施例による液晶表示装置用対向表示板には、ブラックマトリックスを省略し、共通電極270だけを形成できる。
切開部271もまた屈折しており、折れ曲がった画素状で形成されている。また、切開部271の両端はさらにもう1度屈折し、一端はゲート線121と平行であり、切開部271は画素の中央から左右に画素を副画素に両分し、両分された副画素を上下に両分する形の分枝を有することができる。

- 前記第3薄膜トランジスタの前記第1端子と前記第3端子との間の寄生容量は前記第1薄膜トランジスタの前記第1端子と前記第3端子との間の寄生容量より大きいことを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置。
- 前記信号線は前記ゲート線に隣接した他のゲート線であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置。
- 基板と、
前記基板の上に配置されている第1ゲート線及び第2ゲート線と、
前記第1ゲート線及び前記第2ゲート線と同一の層に配置されている維持電極パターンと、
前記第1ゲート線及び前記第2ゲート線と交差しているデータ線と、
前記基板の上に配置されている第1副画素電極及び第2副画素電極と、
前記第1ゲート線に接続された第1端子、前記データ線に接続された第2端子、および前記第1副画素電極に接続された第3端子を有する第1薄膜トランジスタと、
前記第1ゲート線に接続された第1端子、前記データ線に接続された第2端子、および前記第2副画素電極に接続された第3端子を有する第2薄膜トランジスタと、
前記第2ゲート線に接続された第1端子、前記第1副画素電極に接続された第2端子、および前記維持電極パターンの一部と重なっている結合電極に接続されている第3端子を有する第3薄膜トランジスタと、
を含むことを特徴とする、平板表示装置。 - 前記結合電極は前記第1及び第2副画素電極と重なっていないことを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の平板表示装置。
