Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 상, 하부 기판 및 그 사이에 형성된 액정층으로 구성되는 액정표시장치에 있어서,상기 하부 기판에 교차 배열되어 다수의 화소영역을 정의하는 게이트 배선 및 데이터 배선과;상기 화소영역에 형성되는 화소전극과;상기 게이트 배선과 데이터 배선의 교차 지점에 형성되고 상기 화소전극과 연결되고, 게이트 전극, 반도체층 및 소스/드레인 전극을 포함하는 박막트랜지스터와;상기 게이트 전극과 상기 반도체층 사이에 게이트 절연막;상기 화소전극의 소정 부위에 형성되어 전계 왜곡에 의해 액정 방향자를 제어하는 하나 이상의 제 1 전계왜곡수단과;상기 제 1 전계왜곡수단에 인접하여 나란히 형성되는 제 2 전계왜곡수단이 구비되고,상기 제2 전계왜곡수단은,상기 게이트 전극과 동일한 물질을 포함하는 제1 패턴;상기 제1 패턴 상에 상기 게이트 절연막과 동일한 물질을 포함하는 제2 패턴;상기 제2 패턴 상에 상기 반도체층과 동일한 물질을 포함하는 제3 패턴; 및상기 제3 패턴 상에 상기 소스/드레인 전극과 동일한 물질을 포함하는 제4 패턴을 포함하고,상기 제 1 전계왜곡수단 및 상기 제 2 전계왜곡수단은 서로 평행하는 사선 형태로 교번 배치되어 상기 화소영역에 멀티 도메인이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 제 1 전계왜곡수단은 상기 화소전극이 분리된 슬릿(slit)임을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 상부 기판은 공통전극을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제2 전계왜곡수단은 상기 제1 내지 제4 패턴의 두께를 갖는 단차부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 화소 전극은 적어도 상기 제2 전계왜곡수단을 커버하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 공통 전극과 상기 제1 패턴에 공통전압(Vcom)이 인가되며, 상기 제1 패턴 및 화소전극에 의해 스토리지 캐패시터가 형성됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 상부기판 및 하부기판의 내측면에 액정 분자의 배열을 제어하기 위한 수직배향막이 더 구비됨을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
