Abstract
Description
〔1〕
一対の電極間に発光層を含む少なくとも一層の有機層を有する有機電界発光素子であって、下記一般式(I)で表される部分構造を含む、四座配位子の白金錯体化合物の少なくとも一種を有機層に含有することを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。
一般式(I)で表される部分構造を含む四座配位子の白金錯体化合物が、下記一般式(II)で表される白金錯体化合物であることを特徴とする、〔1〕に記載の有機電界発光素子。
一般式(II)で表される白金錯体化合物が、下記一般式(III)で表される白金錯体化合物であることを特徴とする、〔2〕に記載の有機電界発光素子。
一般式(III)で表される白金錯体化合物が、下記一般式(IV)で表される白金錯体化合物であることを特徴とする、〔3〕に記載の有機電界発光素子。
一般式(I)で表される部分構造を含む四座配位子の白金錯体化合物が、下記一般式(V)で表される化合物であることを特徴とする、〔1〕に記載の有機電界発光素子。
前記一般式(I)で表される部分構造を有する四座配位子の白金錯体化合物および一般式(II)〜一般式(V)で表される化合物の少なくとも一種が、発光層に含有されることを特徴とする、〔1〕〜〔5〕のいずれか1項に記載の有機電界発光素子。

前記一般式(I)で表される部分構造を有する四座配位子の白金錯体化合物および一般式(II)〜一般式(V)で表される化合物の少なくとも一種と、少なくとも一種のホスト材料が、発光層に含有されることを特徴とする、〔1〕〜〔6〕のいずれか1項に記載の有機電界発光素子。

一般式(V)で表される化合物。
本発明の有機EL素子では、発光層の他に正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、電子注入層、電子輸送層、正孔ブロック層、電子ブロック層、励起子ブロック層、保護層等が適宜配置されていてもよい。またこれらの各層は、それぞれ他の機能を兼備していてもよい。
本発明に用いる白金錯体の含有量は、本発明に用いる白金錯体が発光層に発光材料として含有される場合、0.1質量%以上50質量%以下が好ましく、0.2質量%以上30質量%以下がより好ましく、0.3質量%以上20質量%以下がさらに好ましく、0.5質量%以上10質量%以下が最も好ましい。
発光層中のホスト材料の濃度は、特に限定されないが、発光層中において主成分(含有量が一番多い成分)であることが好ましく、50質量%以上99.9質量%以下がより好ましく、70質量%以上99.8質量%以下がさらに好ましく、80質量%以上99.7質量%以下が特に好ましく、90質量%以上99.5質量%以下が最も好ましい。
本発明に用いるホスト材料としては、特開2002−100476公報の段落[0113]〜[0161]に記載の化合物および特開2004−214179公報の段落[0087]〜[0098]に記載の化合物を好適に用いることができるが、これらに限定されることはない。
炭素原子で白金に結合するQ2としては、例えばイミノ基、芳香族炭化水素基(フェニル基、ナフチル基など)、芳香族ヘテロ環基(ピリジン環、ピラジン環、ピリミジン環、ピリダジン環、トリアジン環、トリアゾール環、イミダゾール環、ピラゾール環、チオフェン環、フラン環など)およびこれらを含む縮合環が挙げられる。これらの基はさらに置換されていても良い。
窒素原子で白金に結合するQ2としては、例えば含窒素ヘテロ環基(ピロール環、ピラゾール環、イミダゾール環、トリアゾール環など)、アミノ基(アルキルアミノ基、アリールアミノ基、アシルアミノ基、アルコキシカルボニルアミノ基、アリールオキシカルボニルアミノ基、スルホニルアミノ基などが挙げられる。これらの基はさらに置換されていても良い。
酸素原子で白金に結合するQ2としては、例えばオキシ基、カルボニルオキシ基、アルコキシ基、アリールオキシ基、ヘテロ環オキシ基、アシルオキシ基、シリルオキシ基等が挙げられる。
硫黄原子で白金に結合するQ2としては、例えばチオ基、アルキルチオ基、アリールチオ基、ヘテロ環チオ基、カルボニルチオ基等が挙げられる。
りん原子で白金に結合するQ2としては、例えばジアリールホスフィン基が挙げられる。
R1、R2、R3およびR4は一般式(I)におけるそれらと同義であり、また好ましい範囲も同様である。
本発明の白金錯体は、正孔注入材料、正孔輸送材料、発光材料、電子注入材料、電子輸送材料、正孔ブロック材料、電子ブロック材料、励起子ブロック材料のいずれに用いることも可能であるが、好ましくは発光材料である。発光材料として用いる場合、紫外発光、可視光発光、赤外発光であってもよく、また蛍光発光であっても燐光発光であってもよいが、可視光発光であり、燐光発光である。
本発明の発光素子は、陽極側から発光を取り出す、いわゆる、トップエミッション方式であっても良い。
<合成例>
例示化合物24の合成
配位子24は、文献記載の既知の方法にて合成可能であり、SMを出発原料とし(Journal of Organic Chemistry, 53, 786-790 (1988)参照)、既知の有機合成手法を用いて合成した。
配位子25は、文献記載の既知の方法にて合成可能であり、SMを出発原料とし、既知の有機合成手法を用いて合成した。
配位子26は、文献記載の既知の方法にて合成可能であり、SMを出発原料とし、既知の有機合成手法を用いて合成した。
配位子34は、文献記載の既知の方法にて合成可能であり、SMを出発原料とし、既知の有機合成手法を用いて合成した。
<有機EL素子>
(比較例1)
洗浄したITO基板を蒸着装置に入れ、NPDを50nm蒸着し、この上にCBP及びIr(ppy)3を10:1の質量比で40nm蒸着し、さらにこの上にBAlqを10nm、さらにこの上にAlqを30nm蒸着した。得られた有機薄膜上にパターニングしたマスク(発光面積が4mm×5mmとなる)を設置し、フッ化リチウムを3nm蒸着した後アルミニウムを60nm蒸着して比較例1の有機EL素子を作製した。得られた有機EL素子に直流定電圧を印加したところ、発光λmax=514nmの緑色発光が観測され、外部量子効率は6.4%であった。
Ir(ppy)3の代わりに、例示化合物24を用いた以外は比較例1と同様にして実施例1の有機EL素子を作成した。得られた有機EL素子に直流定電圧を印加したところ、発光λmax=500nmの青緑色発光が観測され、外部量子効率は13.0%であった。
比較例1と実施例1の素子を、初期輝度500cd/m2で連続駆動したところ、比較例1の素子の輝度半減時間が85時間だったのに対し、実施例1の素子の輝度半減時間は800時間であった。
Claims (8)
- 前記一般式(I)で表される部分構造を有する四座配位子の白金錯体化合物および一般式(II)〜一般式(V)で表される化合物の少なくとも一種が、発光層に含有されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記一般式(I)で表される部分構造を有する四座配位子の白金錯体化合物および一般式(II)〜一般式(V)で表される化合物の少なくとも一種と、少なくとも一種のホスト材料が、発光層に含有されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の有機電界発光素子。
