Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for the rotatable mounting of a hollow cylindrical winding core according to the preamble of claim 1 and a hollow cylindrical winding core with a support surface arranged on its outer side for carrying a roll of flexible, flat products, in particular printed products.
- a device having the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP-A-0 243 837 or the corresponding US-A-4,768,768.
- a sleeve of a support arrangement is rotatably mounted on a shaft projecting from a transportable frame in the horizontal direction.
- Three radially protruding support arms are attached to this sleeve.
- One of these support arms is provided with a retractable and extendable support.
- a hollow cylindrical winding core the outer side of which is intended to carry a winding of printed products, is placed with the inner, cylindrical side onto the other two support arms when the support is retracted. By extending the support, the winding core is releasably clamped to the support arrangement.
- Another device for supporting a hollow cylindrical winding core is known for example from EP-OS 0 161 569 or the corresponding US-A-4,601,436.
- the support arrangement of this device has two parallel-axis support wheels which are rotatably and drivably mounted on a frame.
- the two support wheels are parts of a friction gear, to which a further ring-shaped friction wheel belongs, which is also a winding core, on which printed products are wound together with a winding belt.
- the inner surface of the winding core comes to rest on the two support wheels and serves as a running surface, which is laterally delimited by inwardly projecting side flanges.
- a winding core is known from EP-OS 0 236 561, which has an outer surface on its outside for carrying a winding of printed products.
- the printed products are wound together with a winding tape attached to one end of the winding core.
- the winding core has a groove for the winding tape that is open towards the outside, and on its inside are arranged two circumferential webs that lie in planes that run at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the winding core and that extend outside the center of gravity of the winding core.
- this winding core For the rotatable mounting of this winding core, it must either be supported on both webs or it is supported on a web, but an axial support of the winding core is necessary to avoid tipping.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a device for the rotatable mounting of a hollow cylindrical winding core, which is intended on its outer side for carrying a roll of flexible, flat products, in particular printed products, which is simple in construction and reliable in operation. Furthermore, a hollow cylindrical winding core is to be proposed which is particularly well suited for this device and which is also very simple in construction.
- the support element and the pressing element clamp the winding core firmly to the support arrangement, so that the winding core rotates with the support arrangement when it rotates. This ensures smooth running because no relative movements can occur between the support arrangement and the winding core.
- the device also becomes very simple since the entire support arrangement can be rotatably supported and the support arrangement itself is only to be designed as a clamping arrangement for the winding core.
- the approximately V-shaped design of the support element and the pressure element allows large tolerances for the entire support arrangement with the support and pressure element and for the winding core.
- a winding core for example offset on the support arrangement, is automatically centered and aligned by means of V-shaped grooves, which ensures simple handling and as a result good stability can be achieved.
- a hollow cylindrical winding core which is particularly well suited for rotatable and removable mounting on a support arrangement of the device according to claim 1, has a bearing element with a substantially V-shaped Cross section on.
- the winding core is placed with its bearing element on the support element and the pressing element acts on the bearing element in such a way that the winding core is clamped on the support arrangement.
- the bearing element is formed by a circumferential web projecting towards the inside, which is designed as an essentially V-shaped wedge.
- a winding core is particularly suitable for a support arrangement according to claim 11.
- FIG. 1 shows a winding core 10 which is clamped to a support arrangement 12 which is rotatably mounted on a bearing block which is not visible in this FIG.
- the bearing block is mounted on rails 14 in a known, height-adjustable manner in a manner not shown.
- the winding core 10 is constructed as a hollow cylinder and has on its outer side a support surface 16 which carries a winding 18 made of printed products 20, which are only indicated in the illustration.
- the printed products 20 are wound in a known manner together with a winding tape 22 on the winding core 10, the winding tape 22 being fastened on one end to the winding core 10 and on the other hand engaging around the winding 18 in order to hold it together.
- the winding core 10 has a circumferential web 24, which protrudes on the inside as a bearing element and whose inner end region is designed as a V-shaped wedge 26. From the web 24 projecting in the axial direction of the winding core 10 stiffening body 28 to stiffen the wing 16.
- Two support claws 30, designed as support elements, and two clamping claws 32, diametrically opposite these, designed as pressure elements, are provided on the support arrangement 12.
- the receiving claws 30 and clamping claws 32 have V-shaped grooves 34, which on V-shaped wedge 26 of the winding core 10 abut.
- the holding claws 30 and clamping claws 32 thus form a clamping arrangement for the winding core 10 and clamp it firmly on the support arrangement 12.
- the clamping claws 32 are pivotally mounted so that they can be disengaged from the V-shaped wedge 26, and the winding core 10 together with the printed products 20 wound thereon to form a winding 18 are lifted off the mounting claws 30 can be.
- a plate-shaped lever 36 is pivotally mounted on the mounting claws 30 and has rollers 38 rotatably mounted on its free end.
- a plate-shaped rolling link 40 which connects them to one another and is supported on the rollers 38, is fastened to the clamping claws 32.
- Arranged on the lever 36 are two laterally projecting pins 42, each of which acts on a first and a second spring 44, 46, only one of which is shown in FIG. 1.
- the second spring 46 is attached at one end to a pin 42 and at the other end to a clamping claw 32.
- the first spring 44 prestresses the lever 36 against a rest position
- the second spring 46 prestresses the clamping claws 32 against a rest position.
- Safety stop cams 48 are provided on the lever 36, the task of which is described below.
- the support arrangement 12, and thus the winding core 10 clamped to it with the winding 18, is rotatably mounted in the direction of arrow A on the bearing block, not shown.
- Fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II of Fig. 1, the winding 18 and the bracket 50 only are partially shown.
- the bearing block 50 is mounted on the rails 14 (see FIG. 1), which are not shown in FIG. 2, and are height-adjustable.
- a hollow shaft 54 which can be driven rotatably about its axis of rotation 52, indicated by dash-dotted lines, is mounted on the bearing block 50.
- the hollow shaft 54 carries a flange 56 on which a plate-shaped holding element 58 of the support arrangement 12 is fixed.
- the two holding claws 30, of which only one is visible in FIG. 2, are attached to the holding element 58.
- the holding claws 30 protrude from the holding element 58 in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation 52 and have, in their end regions, the V-shaped grooves 34 mentioned above, which are open towards the outside in the radial direction.
- clamping claw 32 is shown with solid lines in a rest position and with dash-dotted lines in a working position designated 32 '.
- the clamping claw 32 is designed as a two-armed lever which is pivotably mounted on a shaft 60 arranged on the holding element 58.
- the axis of the shaft 60 is perpendicular to the axis of rotation 52 and is spaced from it. It should be mentioned in this connection that both clamping claws 32 shown in FIG. 1 are mounted on the single common shaft 60.
- a nose 62 is formed, which in the working position 32 'of the clamping claw 32 extends in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation 52, this is indicated by 62'.
- the clamping claw 32 is provided with a V-shaped groove 34 in the end region of the arm removed from the bearing block 50.
- the 34' designated V-shaped groove 34 seen in the radial direction open towards the outside and arranged in the same, perpendicular to the axis of rotation 52 plane, in which the V-shaped groove 34 of the claw 30 is arranged.
- the clamping claws 32 which are laterally spaced apart in the direction of the axis of the shaft 60, are operatively connected to one another by means of the rolling link 40. The operation of this rolling link 40 is described below.
- a further shaft 66 is fixed to the holding claws 30 which are laterally spaced apart.
- the lever 36 is pivotally mounted, which is shown with solid lines in the rest position and dash-dotted lines and designated 36 'in the working position.
- the first spring 44 acts on one end on the pin 42 fixed on the lever 36 and on the other end on a further pin 68 fixed on the holding element 58.
- This first spring 44 pretensions the lever 36 against the rest position, in which it rests on a stop 70 arranged on the holding element 58.
- the second spring 46 which is also fixed at one end to the pin 42, is attached at the other to a further pin 72 arranged on the clamping claw 32.
- the second spring 46 biases the clamping claw 32 in the rest position, in which it rests on the lever 36.
- the lines of action of the two springs 44 and 46 in the working position of the lever 36 and the clamping claw 32 are indicated by dash-dotted lines and denoted by 44 'and 46'.
- the two rollers 38 are rotatably mounted.
- the roller 38 comes into contact with a first segment of the rolling path 40 of the rolling link 40 designated by 74 and, as a result of its further movement, swivels the clamping claw 32 from its rest position to the position 32 'Designated working position clockwise.
- the lever 36 is approximately perpendicular to a second segment 76 of the rolling path of the rolling link 40.
- the existing between the two segments 74, 76 kink in the rolling path has the result that in a first region of the pivoting movement of the lever 36, the clamping claw 32 executes a large pivoting angle in the direction of the working position 32 ', and in the subsequent pivoting range of the lever 36 the swivel angle of the clamping claw 32 is only small.
- An inflatable bellows 78 is provided between the holding element 58 and the lever 36.
- the outline contours of the inflated bellows 78 are indicated by dash-dotted lines and designated 78 '.
- the cavity of the bellows 78 is connected to a pressure source, not shown, through a central bore 80 in the holding element 58 and in the flange 56 and the interior of the hollow shaft 54.
- the bellows 78 is fixed by means of two screw bolts 82, so that the bellows 78 in the inflated state 78 'cannot slide away towards the bottom.
- the winding 18 is wound on the supporting surface 16 of the winding core 10.
- the circumferential web 24 projecting towards the inner side is designed as a V-shaped wedge 26 at its free end.
- a circumferential groove 84 which is open towards the outside of the winding core 10.
- Part of the winding tape 22 is wound in the groove 84 and is not required for the formation of the winding 18.
- one end of the winding tape 22 is attached to the bottom of the groove 84 on the winding body 10. When the winding core 10 is empty, the entire winding tape 22 is wound in the groove 84.
- the groove 84 is widened so that it forms two spaced-apart recesses 86, in each of which a circumferential guide 88 is arranged.
- An annular cover 90 is slidably mounted in the guides 88 and has a slot running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the winding core 10 for the exit of the winding tape 22 from the groove 84.
- the center of gravity S of the winding core 10 or the winding 18 wound thereon lies in the plane running transversely to the axis of rotation 52, in which the V-shaped grooves 34 and 34 'are arranged.
- a boom 92 of a handling device not shown, for example a stacking vehicle, is shown partially in section.
- the free end of the arm 92 has a V-shaped receiving groove 94 for the V-shaped wedge 26 of the winding core 10.
- the cantilever 92 lies between the two laterally spaced receiving claws 30 on the web 24 of the winding core 10 and can be moved in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation 52 and transversely thereto by means of the handling device.
- the device for rotatably supporting the hollow cylindrical winding core 10 functions as follows. Before a winding core 10 can be brought into contact with the locating claws 30, the support arrangement 12 must be brought into the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in which the two locating claws 30 lie on top. The bellows 78 is depressurized with respect to the ambient air, so that the lever 36 and the clamping claws 32 are in the rest position due to the tensile force of the two springs 44, 46. Means of the handling device, a winding core 10 is brought to rest on the holding claws 30, in which the arm 92 is inserted between the two clamping claws 30 and then lowered, so that the wedge 26 comes to rest in the grooves 34 of the holding claws 30.
- the V-shaped design of the web 24 and the grooves 34 guarantees a secure reception and centering of the winding core 10, even when the arm 92 is not positioned precisely.
- the arm 92 can be lowered further and moved away in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation 52. Since the center of gravity S of the winding core 10 lies in the same plane in which the grooves 34 are also arranged, the longitudinal axis of the winding core 10 coincides with the axis of rotation 52.
- the bellows 78 is now connected to the pressure source and inflated, which causes the pivoting movement of the lever 36 in the counterclockwise direction.
- the rollers 38 come to rest on the first segment 74, which, when the lever 36 moves further, causes the claws 32 to pivot clockwise until they come to rest on the V-shaped wedge 26 of the winding core 10. Since the angle between the second segment 76 of the rolling path of the rolling link 40 and the lever 36 is almost 90 °, the clamping claws 32 are also pressed with a relatively small overpressure in the bellows 78 with a very great force against the web 24, which securely clamps the Winding core 10 on the support assembly 12 results. It should be noted that when the winding core 10 is in place, the pivoting range of the lever 36 is limited by the segment 76 and the safety stop cams do not rest on the mounting claws 30.
- the device described above for rotatably supporting a hollow cylindrical winding core 10 is particularly suitable for winding stations, such as are described, for example, in EP-OS 0 236 561 already mentioned above.
- winding up a stream of printed products 20, for example occurring in a scale formation the procedure is as follows: An empty winding core 10, as described above, is placed on the receiving claws 30 and clamped to the support arrangement 12 by means of the clamping claws 32.
- the outer free end of the winding tape 22 is attached to a tape reel, as described in more detail in the above-mentioned EP-OS. By turning the tape reel, winding tape 22 is unwound from the supply of winding tape 22 wound in the groove 84.
- the hollow shaft 54 is braked slightly so that the winding tape 22 can be wound up onto the tape reel.
- the winding tape 22 is unwound from the winding core 10
- this rotates about the axis of rotation 52, while the cover 90 remains stationary with respect to the surroundings but moves relative to the winding core 10 in the guides 88, so that the slot arranged in the cover 90 for the winding tape 22 remains in the same place.
- the hollow shaft 54 and thus the support arrangement 12 and the winding core 10 are driven in the winding direction.
- the supplied printed products 20 are then unwound together with the now from the tape reel Winding tape 22 wound on the winding core 10.
- the wing 16 together with the cover 90 form a cylindrical surface.
- the winding band 22 is guided through the finished winding 18 by a full revolution and its free end is connected to the winding band 22, so that a self-supporting winding is formed, as shown in FIG. 1 is shown.
- the winding core 10 can now be lifted together with the winding 18 by means of the handling device from the support arrangement 12, as described above.
- the device can also be used for unwinding printed products 20 from a roll 18.
- the winding core 10 with the winding 18 is placed on the support arrangement 12 and clamped onto it.
- the support assembly 12 is rotated in the unwinding direction, and the printed products 20 detach from the winding 18 in a known manner.
- the support arrangement 12 is braked and driven in the winding direction, so that the winding tape 22 is now wound up again onto a supply in the groove 84 on the winding core 10.
- a preferably V-shaped groove is arranged on the web 24 of the winding core 10, which groove can also be brought into contact with V-shaped wedges which are also preferably formed on the mounting claws 30 and clamping claws 32.
- two holding claws 30 and a single clamping claw 32 is also possible for two holding claws 30 and a single clamping claw 32 to be provided is, this a clamping claw 32 is preferably arranged in a plane of symmetry in which the axis of rotation 52 lies and to which the two mounting claws 32 are arranged symmetrically.
- the two holding claws 30 and the single clamping claw 32 are preferably arranged in an equilateral triangle.
- only a single mounting claw 30 and a single clamping claw 32 are provided. The two claws would then lie diametrically opposite one another and would preferably be of wide design in order to lie against the web 24 of the winding core 10 over a larger area in the circumferential direction.
- the pressing element or the clamping claws 32 do not necessarily have to be pivotally mounted, so that they can also be pushed in the radial direction, for example.
- the support element and the pressure element it would also be conceivable for the support element and the pressure element to be slidably and / or pivotably mounted.
