Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for the rotatable mounting of a hollow cylindrical winding core according to the preamble of claim 1 and a hollow cylindrical winding core with a support surface arranged on its outer side for carrying a roll of flexible, flat products, in particular printed products.
  • a device having the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP-A-0 243 837 or the corresponding US-A-4,768,768.
  • a sleeve of a support arrangement is rotatably mounted on a shaft projecting from a transportable frame in the horizontal direction.
  • Three radially protruding support arms are attached to this sleeve.
  • One of these support arms is provided with a retractable and extendable support.
  • a hollow cylindrical winding core the outer side of which is intended to carry a winding of printed products, is placed with the inner, cylindrical side onto the other two support arms when the support is retracted. By extending the support, the winding core is releasably clamped to the support arrangement.
  • Another device for supporting a hollow cylindrical winding core is known for example from EP-OS 0 161 569 or the corresponding US-A-4,601,436.
  • the support arrangement of this device has two parallel-axis support wheels which are rotatably and drivably mounted on a frame.
  • the two support wheels are parts of a friction gear, to which a further ring-shaped friction wheel belongs, which is also a winding core, on which printed products are wound together with a winding belt.
  • the inner surface of the winding core comes to rest on the two support wheels and serves as a running surface, which is laterally delimited by inwardly projecting side flanges.
  • a winding core is known from EP-OS 0 236 561, which has an outer surface on its outside for carrying a winding of printed products.
  • the printed products are wound together with a winding tape attached to one end of the winding core.
  • the winding core has a groove for the winding tape that is open towards the outside, and on its inside are arranged two circumferential webs that lie in planes that run at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the winding core and that extend outside the center of gravity of the winding core.
  • this winding core For the rotatable mounting of this winding core, it must either be supported on both webs or it is supported on a web, but an axial support of the winding core is necessary to avoid tipping.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a device for the rotatable mounting of a hollow cylindrical winding core, which is intended on its outer side for carrying a roll of flexible, flat products, in particular printed products, which is simple in construction and reliable in operation. Furthermore, a hollow cylindrical winding core is to be proposed which is particularly well suited for this device and which is also very simple in construction.
  • the support element and the pressing element clamp the winding core firmly to the support arrangement, so that the winding core rotates with the support arrangement when it rotates. This ensures smooth running because no relative movements can occur between the support arrangement and the winding core.
  • the device also becomes very simple since the entire support arrangement can be rotatably supported and the support arrangement itself is only to be designed as a clamping arrangement for the winding core.
  • the approximately V-shaped design of the support element and the pressure element allows large tolerances for the entire support arrangement with the support and pressure element and for the winding core.
  • a winding core for example offset on the support arrangement, is automatically centered and aligned by means of V-shaped grooves, which ensures simple handling and as a result good stability can be achieved.

Before a winding core 10 can be brought into contact with the locating claws 30, the support arrangement 12 must be brought into the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in which the two locating claws 30 lie on top. The bellows 78 is depressurized with respect to the ambient air, so that the lever 36 and the clamping claws 32 are in the rest position due to the tensile force of the two springs 44, 46. Means of the handling device, a winding core 10 is brought to rest on the holding claws 30, in which the arm 92 is inserted between the two clamping claws 30 and then lowered, so that the wedge 26 comes to rest in the grooves 34 of the holding claws 30.

Since the angle between the second segment 76 of the rolling path of the rolling link 40 and the lever 36 is almost 90 °, the clamping claws 32 are also pressed with a relatively small overpressure in the bellows 78 with a very great force against the web 24, which securely clamps the Winding core 10 on the support assembly 12 results.
