Abby Zavos participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on August 22, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Abby Zavos' responses follow below.[2]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | Supporting and protecting workers' rights to a living wage by keeping Missouri from being a Right To Work state. Expanding Medicaid and reversing recent budget cuts to programs for senior citizens and children. Fully funding our public schools to ensure that they stay strong, public, inclusive, and free from voucher programs.[3][4] | ” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | My personal passion is to return to a government of the people. If I leave a leaflet at your door, it will have my phone number on it. Lots of people question that decision, but I think that people deserve every opportunity to know the people they elect. If a representative isn't available to people, how much of a representative can they be?Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[4]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Abby Zavos answered the following:
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow and why?
“ | I'm sitting here thinking on remarkable women, and it occurs to me that there is little difference between a woman like Eleanor Roosevelt, a few women labor leaders, and a few social justice warriors I've had the pleasure to witness. They are fierce in every manner: work, love, grit, steel, tenacity, and after an 18 hour day of advocating for someone else, remain fiercely protective of their personal circle of hearts. Those women are all on equal pedestals in my book of personal heroes.[4] | ” |
“ | There is a book by Barbara Kingsolver called "Prodigal Summer". It's a work of fiction and has nothing to do with politics. It speaks to the issues of conservation, and wildlife management, which are both near and dear to my heart. It examines the unforseen and unintended impact that human intervention has both in natural habitats and food chains. The main characters disagree more than they agree, and struggle with the choice to see one another's humanity, or persist in rewarding their personal ego, instead. It's a choice we all can make.[4] | ” |

The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ |
What is your political philosophy? I'm running for office because I want to put people's needs ahead of big donors, Big Business, and Big Ag. Is there anything you would like to add? I support workers rights, and have the endorsements of the UAW, AFL/CIO, Teamsters, Women's Political Caucus, Women's Leadership Council, and Northland Progress, among others.[4] |
