|I believe the people who represent us should be one of us. As a small business owner, proud stepmom, and long-time Kansas City area resident, I understand the challenges and opportunities families, workers, and entrepreneurs in my district are facing every day. I have a clear view of what's working and what's not in Missouri politics, as well as the experiences and perspective to enact positive change right here in District 14.
Put simply, I want what you want: educational opportunities for all our children; quality, affordable healthcare access to keep our families and workforce strong; a fair and transparent government that works for everyone; protections for the workers and union members who keep our economy running; and a balanced approach to ensuring the safety and security of our families.
If elected, I'll work tirelessly to give a voice to those who feel left behind and fight for progressive values that improve our lives and our communities.
- I'm passionate about advocating for people and policy, and I want to be a prominent voice for Northlanders in Jefferson City.
- I place people above politics-always-and I care deeply about the success and happiness of folks in my community and my state.
- I understand this is an incredibly difficult job, and I believe my work ethic and tenacity make me well suited to handle the challenges of legislating.

I spent my childhood influenced by the values my parents instilled in me: tenacity, empathy and generosity. My mother grew up in a low-income, minority household, and my dad was raised on a dairy farm in rural Indiana. Their life experiences influenced how they raised my brother and me, which helped shape who I became: a hard-working business owner with a passion for helping others.
If elected, I believe these qualities will serve me well because I'm motivated more by the opportunity to make positive change than I am by money or power. I'm not running for office because I'm driven by ego or greed. I'm running for State Representative because my neighbors, family and friends deserve so much better than the current status quo. They deserve someone who will champion their values in Jefferson City and fight against the policies and politicians that make their lives more difficult.
My very first job at age 12 was as a babysitter for families in my neighborhood. An avid reader and born entrepreneur, I read all the Babysitters Club books and decided that I, too, should start a babysitting business, as I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood and had experience keeping my younger brother alive when my parents were out.
While I eventually took various jobs in retail once I was old enough to do so, I was the go-to sitter in my neighborhood until I graduated high school. To this day, I remain close with the families I babysat for and have had the incredible privilege of watching those kids graduate high school then college, get married and start families.
The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson
This incredible book perfectly combines my life-long love of history and true crime. I prefer to read non-fiction, and love books that teach me something new and fascinating about history while also taking me on a wild journey of murder and intrigue...

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
