Buffalo Sabres

The "Buffaslug" (so-named by fans for the logo's lack of legs, both literally and figuratively) arrives in 2006, along with an innovation never before seen in the NHL -- the player number on the upper right chest. Other teams would soon follow suit. To quell fans' dissatisfaction with the new look, the team uses its classic jersey (with front number added for good measure) as its new third jersey.
