Quebec Bulldogs
1919-20
The Quebec Bulldogs began play as an amateur team in 1888, playing in several amateur leagues before joining the National Hockey Association in 1910. When Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa defected to the newly-formed National Hockey League in 1917, the Bulldogs went on hiatus for two seasons, with World War I hampering the club's ability to raise the funds needed to operate in a small town. They finally fielded an NHL team in the 1919-20 season, but their stay in the NHL was short-lived. The following season, they moved to Hamilton, Ontario, to become the Tigers. During the team's NHA days, they won the Stanley Cup both years they played for it -- 1912 and 1913.
