Android app for QR code restaurant menus without installed browser?
I keep the browser uninstalled on my android phone to limit distraction, and it is mostly OK except when I go to a restaurant with a QR code menu I'm out of luck. I would love an app which scans QR codes and shows the menu, but doesn't include a fully-functioning browser. Ideally I would also be able to order from the app, but at least I want to be able to see the menu. Does such an app exist, or any other ideas?
Virus in a Gmail App (Android)?
My Dad's Gmail app on android doesn't have an option to mark as spam, doesn't have a spam folder, and doesn't have a link to the sub-inboxes like social and updates even though they are enabled and mail is going to them. [more inside]
Android app blocker which allows longer passwords?
I like to lock myself out of apps like Google and Chrome so I can only get into them if I really need to. I used to use one called AppLock from DoMobile Labs, which allowed you to put a really long password in (got the idea from this post). Now it won't work on my phone, and the other apps I find only have 4-digit pins. Are there any other app lock apps which allow at least 16 digit passwords?
How do I make my Galaxy S5 distraction-free?
I recently got my first smartphone - the Galaxy S5 - and having the web and email on my phone is way too distracting. I want to make my phone distraction-free (inspired by the distraction-free iPhone). Basically I want to stop myself from constantly checking my email and surfing the on my phone, but retain the ability to use email and the web if I really need them when I'm out. Any ideas on how to make my Galaxy S5 distraction free? [more inside]
