Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the process flow, and to greatly reduce the cost, by utilizing the hot air, owing to the compression heat of the influent air blower, for preliminary regeneration of the adsorbent, and by water-cooling the adsorption column itself after regenerating the adsorbent by heating.
CONSTITUTION: The blower 51 sucks and compresses the atmosphere, and the heated air enters the waer-jacketed packed column 67B through the pipe 52, valve 53, heater (OFF) 79, and valve 76; hereby, the perliminary regeneration of the adsorbent of packed column 67B is operated. The air, after serving at the preliminary regeneration, is sent to the coolers 55, 52 through the pipe 82, valve 65, and is cooled; next, the air enters another packed column 67A through the pipe 64 and valve 65; in the packed column 67A the air is dehumidified and is withdrawn thrugh the pipe 77 as the product air. At the end point of the preliminary regeneration, the heater 79 is put ON in order to perfectly release the equilibrium moisture content remaining in the adsorbent. When the main regeneration is finished, the valve 53 is changed over in order to intercept the air flow into the packed column 67B; after that, the cooling water is introduced into the jacket of the packed column 67B in order to cool the sensible heat of the adsorbent 69B.
