Description
本発明の接着剤組成物は、前記カルボキシル基変性したスチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂に、それ自体繊維素に対して極めて優れた接着性を備えているポリビニルアルコール樹脂をカルボキシル基変性した重合体の水溶液を加えて主剤とし、該主剤に前記N,N−ジグリシジルアミノ基含有化合物を配合したものである。
本実施形態に用いる前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂としては、スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂とカルボキシル基を有する不飽和単量体との共重合体の分散液を用いることができる。また、前記スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と共重合するカルボキシル基を有する不飽和単量体としては、マレイン酸、マレイン酸モノエステル、マレイン酸ジエステル、イタコン酸、イタコン酸モノエステル、フマル酸、フマル酸モノエステル、シトラコン酸、シトラコン酸モノエステル、メサコン酸、メサコン酸モノエステル等のエチレン性不飽和ジカルボン酸またはそのエステル、クロトン酸、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸等のモノカルボン酸等から選択された1種または2種以上の不飽和単量体を挙げることができる。
次に、含水率5〜8重量%のラワン材からなり、それぞれ0.7mm、1.7mm、0.7mmの厚さの3枚の単板をこの順に重ね、接着面の両面に本実施例で得られた木質用耐水接着剤組成物を330g/m2(両面)の塗布量で塗布した。前記のように重ねられた単板を、20℃で10分以内の閉鎖堆積、20℃で1MPaの冷圧下に20分、110℃で0.8MPaの熱圧下に60秒の条件にて接着して合板を製造し、該合板を接着性能評価のための試験板とした。
表1から、カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂の樹脂分100重量部に対して、カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体を、該重合体の水溶液に含まれる樹脂分として、0.6〜30重量部含み、前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、N,N,N’,N’−テトラグリシジル−m−キシレンジアミン10〜15重量部を含む実施例1〜6の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、常態強度はもちろん、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度についても優れた接着性能が得られることが明らかである。
次に、本実施例で得られた木質用耐水接着剤組成物を用いた以外は、実施例1と全く同一にして試験板を製造し、該試験板の常態強度、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度を実施例1と全く同一にして測定した。
次に、本比較例で得られた接着剤組成物を用いた以外は、実施例1と全く同一にして試験板の製造を試みたところ、接着不良(パンク現象)が生じ、試験板を得ることができなかった。結果を表2に示す。
表2から、実施例1で用いた第3級アミノ窒素原子を有する4官能エポキシ化合物に代えて、1,3−ビス(N,N−ジグリシジルアミノメチル)シクロヘキサンを用いた実施例7の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、実施例1〜6の木質用耐水接着剤組成物と同様に、常態強度はもちろん、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度についても優れた接着性能が得られることが明らかである。
表3から、カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂の樹脂分100重量部に対して、マレイン酸で変性したカルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体を、該重合体の水溶液に含まれる樹脂分として15重量部、炭酸カルシウムを200重量部含み、前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、N,N,N’,N’−テトラグリシジル−m−キシレンジアミン1.5〜104重量部を含む実施例8,9の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、実施例1〜6の木質用耐水接着剤組成物と同様に常態強度はもちろん、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度についても優れた接着性能が得られることが明らかである。
表4から、カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂の樹脂分100重量部に対して、重合度が400〜1700の範囲にあり、変性量が0.2〜10モル%の範囲にあり、ケン化度が75〜98モル%の範囲にあるカルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体を、該重合体の水溶液に含まれる樹脂分として12〜120重量部の範囲で含み、炭酸カルシウムを100〜500重量部の範囲で含むと共に、前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、N,N,N’,N’−テトラグリシジル−m−キシレンジアミンを14〜40重量部の範囲で含む実施例10〜16の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、実施例1〜6の木質用耐水接着剤組成物と同様に、常態強度はもちろん、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度についても優れた性能が得られることが明らかである。
表5〜7から、前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と、前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤に、N,N,N’,N’−テトラグリシジル−m−キシレンジアミンを添加した実施例17の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、可使時間が長く、塗布性に優れている上、常態強度はもちろん、耐水強度、耐温水強度、耐煮沸繰り返し強度についても優れた接着性能が得られることが明らかである。
表8から、前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と、前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤に、N,N,N’,N’−テトラグリシジル−m−キシレンジアミンを添加した実施例18の木質用耐水接着剤組成物によれば、該接着剤組成物を用いて接着した木材が変色しないことが明らかである。
Claims (6)
- (A)分子内にカルボキシル基を有するカルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂と、分子内にカルボキシル基を有するカルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体の水溶液とからなる主剤と、
(B)第3級アミノ窒素原子を有する4官能エポキシ化合物として、一般式(1)で示されるN,N−ジグリシジルアミノ基含有化合物とを含むことを特徴とする木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
- 前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂は、カルボキシル基変性量が0.1〜20重量%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
- 前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体は、カルボキシル基変性量が0.1〜10モル%、重合度が100〜6000の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2記載の木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
- 前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、前記カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール重合体を、該重合体の水溶液に含まれる樹脂分として、0.2〜270重量部の範囲で含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項記載の木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
- 前記主剤に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、前記N,N−ジグリシジルアミノ基含有化合物を3〜150重量部の範囲で含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項記載の木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
- 前記カルボキシル基変性スチレン−ブタジエン合成ラテックス樹脂に含まれる樹脂分100重量部に対して、充填剤を0〜700重量部の範囲で含むことを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項記載の木質用耐水接着剤組成物。
