Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示装置100は、液晶パネル5、透明保護部材1および透明粘着材2を備える。液晶パネル5は、TFT基板9と、TFT基板との間に液晶層を挟持する対向基板8と、対向基板8の液晶層とは反対側の面上に配設される透明導電膜7とを備え、透明導電膜7の側が表示面側である横電界駆動方式の液晶パネルである。透明保護部材1は、液晶パネル5における表示面側の面を覆う。透明粘着材2は、透明保護部材1を当該表示面側の面に貼り合わせる。透明導電膜7の膜厚は120nmから160nmの範囲内である。

Description
<液晶表示装置の構成>
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置100の構成の一例を概略的に示す分解斜視図である。図2は、図1に示される矢視A−Aにおける断面図である。
続いて、本実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置100の構造において得られる作用および効果について、以下、詳細に説明を行う。
実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置100において、透明導電膜7の膜厚を120nm〜160nmの範囲内の比較的厚い膜厚に設定する際において、特定の膜厚に設定した場合において、液晶パネル5の表示に色づきが生じる場合がある。例えば、透明導電膜7の膜厚を液晶パネル5の表示に青緑色の色づきが生じる膜厚にした場合には、具体的には、液晶パネル5の単体において、青緑色の波長範囲に対応する480nm〜500nmの範囲内において、相対的に透過率または反射率の何れかが高くなっていることになる。
また、上記説明した実施の形態2からの更なる変形例として、例えば、透明保護部材1の代わりに、他の部材の透過特性を調整しても良い。以下に、実施の形態2における構成を一部変更した幾つかの変形例について説明を行う。
本変形例では、実施の形態2に係る液晶表示装置において、透明保護部材1の透過特性は調整せずに、透明粘着材2に透過特性を調整したものを用いる。
本変形例では、実施の形態2に係る液晶表示装置において、透明保護部材1の透過特性は調整せずに、対向基板8に透過特性を調整したものを用いる。本変形例では、対向基板8の透過率を調整するために、対向基板8が有するカラーフィルタの色度調整を行う。カラーフィルタの色度調整は、R(赤)、G(緑)およびB(青)の各画素の開口率(つまり、画素面積に対するブラックマトリクスの開口部の面積の比率)により調整しても良いし、RGBの各色材層の波長ごとの透過率特性を調整しても良い。各色材層の波長ごとの透過率特性を調整する方法としては、色材層の厚みを変えても良く、発色させるために混入される顔料の含有量を変えても良い。
実施の形態2およびその各種変形例に係る液晶表示装置においては、透明導電膜7の透過特性を打ち消すような透過特性を有する部材によって、透明導電膜7によって生じる表示の色づきを改善している。一方、実施の形態3に係る液晶表示装置では、透明導電膜7に対して、表示の色づきに影響する少なくとも表示領域5aにおいて、配列して設けられた抜きパターン(または開口パターン)を形成することによって、透明導電膜7による表示の色づきを改善する。
実施の形態3に係る液晶表示装置においては、透明導電膜7に対して、表示の色づきに影響する少なくとも表示領域5aにおいて、配列して設けられた抜きパターン(または開口パターン)を形成することによって、透明導電膜7によって生じる表示の色づきを改善している。一方、実施の形態4に係る液晶表示装置では、透明導電膜7を実施の形態1において用いなかった比較的薄い膜厚範囲とすることにより、透明導電膜7を用いることによる表示の色づきを改善する。

- TFT基板と、前記TFT基板との間に液晶層を挟持する対向基板と、前記対向基板の前記液晶層とは反対側の面上に配設される透明導電膜とを備え、前記透明導電膜の側が表示面側である横電界駆動方式の液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルにおける前記表示面側の面を覆う透明保護部材と、
前記透明保護部材を前記表示面側の面に貼り合わせる透明粘着材と
を備え、

前記透明保護部材と、前記透明粘着材と、前記液晶パネルを構成する部材とのうち少なくとも一つの透過率は、前記透明導電膜の透過率または反射率の波長依存性によって生じる前記液晶パネルにおける表示の色づきを低減する波長依存性を有する、液晶表示装置。 - 請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置であって、
前記対向基板はカラーフィルタを有し、
前記対向基板の透過率は、前記カラーフィルタの色度によってきまる、前記色づきを低減する波長依存性を有する、液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明導電膜は、前記液晶パネルにおける映像が表示される表示領域において前記対向基板が露出する部分を有する、液晶表示装置。 - TFT基板と、前記TFT基板との間に液晶層を挟持する対向基板と、前記対向基板の前記液晶層とは反対側の面上に配設される透明導電膜とを備え、前記透明導電膜の側が表示面側である横電界駆動方式の液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルにおける前記表示面側の面を覆う透明保護部材と、
前記透明保護部材を前記表示面側の面に貼り合わせる透明粘着材と
を備え、
前記透明導電膜の膜厚は25nmから40nmの範囲内である、液晶表示装置。 - 請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明保護部材における前記液晶パネル側の面の周縁部に沿って、開口部を有して額縁状に配設される遮光膜をさらに備え、
前記透明導電膜は、平面視において少なくとも前記液晶パネルにおける映像が表示される表示領域の周縁部から前記遮光膜の開口部の境界部分まで存在する、液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1から請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明保護部材の表面に反射防止機能を有した薄膜層が設けられる、液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1から請求項9のいずれか一項に記載の液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明導電膜はスパッタ膜である、液晶表示装置。
