Abstract
【解決手段】積層膜13が透明導電膜7および対向基板8に接するように、透明導電膜7と対向基板8との間に積層膜13が設けられている。積層膜13は、低屈折率層13aと高屈折率層13bと低屈折率層13cと高屈折率層13dとを含む。透明導電膜7から対向基板8に向かう方向において、低屈折率層13a、高屈折率層13b、低屈折率層13cおよび高屈折率層13dの順で存在するように、当該低屈折率層13a、当該高屈折率層13b、当該低屈折率層13cおよび当該高屈折率層13dは設けられる。低屈折率層13aおよび低屈折率層13cの各々は材料Maからなる。材料Maの光の屈折率は1.4から1.6の範囲内である。高屈折率層13bおよび高屈折率層13dの各々は材料Mbからなる。材料Mbの光の屈折率は1.9から2.1の範囲内である。

Description
(液晶表示装置の構成)
図1は、実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置100の分解斜視図である。図1では、液晶表示装置100の構成の一例が概略的に示される。
次に、本実施の形態の特徴的な構成(以下、「特徴構成X」ともいう)について説明する。本実施の形態では、透明導電膜7の膜厚は、比較的薄い膜厚である。具体的には、透明導電膜7の膜厚は10nmから30nmの範囲内である。透明導電膜7は、スパッタリング法により形成されたスパッタ膜(具体的にはITO膜)である。ここでは、一例として、平均膜厚25nmおよびバラツキ範囲±10%の条件により、透明導電膜7は形成される。
次に、実施例1に係る液晶表示装置100の構造において得られる作用および効果について、対比例1、対比例2および対比例3における実験結果とともに、説明を行う。詳細は後述するが、対比例1、対比例2および対比例3の各々は、実施の形態1の積層膜13の構成を変更した例である。
次に、液晶パネル5の透過特性および反射特性の波長依存性に対する各膜の膜厚の適正範囲を確認するための検証を行った。液晶パネル5の透過特性および反射特性は、主に、透明導電膜7および積層膜13における、透過特性および反射特性である。なお、液晶パネル5の透過特性および反射特性は、遮光膜3(黒パターン)の開口輪郭の視認性、液晶パネル5の表示映像の色付き等と相関がある。
Claims (5)
- 視認側の面である表示面を有する、横電界駆動方式の液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルの前記表示面を覆う透明保護部材とを備え、
前記液晶パネルは、
アレイ基板と、
前記アレイ基板と対向する、視認側の基板である対向基板とを含み、
前記対向基板と前記アレイ基板とにより液晶層が挟持されており、
前記対向基板は、視認側の面である外側表面を有し、
前記液晶パネルは、さらに、
前記対向基板の前記外側表面上に設けられている積層膜と、
前記積層膜上に設けられている透明導電膜とを含み、
前記透明導電膜は、前記液晶パネルの前記表示面側に存在し、
前記液晶パネルにおいて、映像が表示される表示領域は、当該液晶パネルの前記表示面側に存在し、
前記透明保護部材のうち前記表示面を覆う面の周縁部には、開口を有する遮光膜が設けられており、
前記透明保護部材は、透明粘着材を介して、前記液晶パネルの前記表示面に貼り付けられており、
平面視において、前記透明導電膜は前記表示領域を覆い、
平面視において、前記透明導電膜は、前記透明保護部材に設けられている前記遮光膜の前記開口の輪郭と重なり、
前記開口は、外光が当該開口を介して前記表示領域まで到達可能なように、構成されており、
前記透明導電膜の下層としての前記積層膜は、
光の屈折率が1.4から1.6の範囲内である第1材料からなる第1低屈折率層と、
光の屈折率が1.9から2.1の範囲内である第2材料からなる第1高屈折率層と、
前記第1材料からなる第2低屈折率層と、
前記第2材料からなる第2高屈折率層とを含み、
前記透明導電膜から前記対向基板に向かう方向において、前記第1低屈折率層、前記第1高屈折率層、前記第2低屈折率層および前記第2高屈折率層の順で存在するように、当該第1低屈折率層、当該第1高屈折率層、当該第2低屈折率層および当該第2高屈折率層は設けられる、
液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1低屈折率層および前記第2低屈折率層の各々は、二酸化ケイ素からなる膜であり、
前記第1高屈折率層および前記第2高屈折率層の各々は、別の透明導電膜である、
請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記透明導電膜のシート抵抗は100Ω/□から300Ω/□の範囲内である、
請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記透明導電膜の膜厚は10nmから30nmの範囲内である、
請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1低屈折率層の膜厚は30nmから65nmの範囲内であり、
前記第1高屈折率層の膜厚は25nmから80nmの範囲内であり、
前記第2低屈折率層の膜厚は15nmから60nmの範囲内であり、
前記第2高屈折率層の膜厚は10nmから30nmの範囲内である、
請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
