Abstract
【解決手段】本発明に係るLEDドライバIC1は、PWM駆動される輝度制御信号PWMからイネーブル信号ENを生成するイネーブル制御部10A(図1では平滑回路)と;イネーブル信号ENに応じてオン/オフ制御され、かつ、輝度制御信号PWMに応じてLED2のPWM駆動を行う負荷駆動部20と;を有して成る構成とされている。

Claims (9)
- 外部入力されるPWM信号からイネーブル信号を生成するイネーブル制御部と;
前記イネーブル信号に応じてオン/オフ制御され、かつ、前記PWM信号に応じて負荷のPWM駆動を行う負荷駆動部と;
を有して成ることを特徴とする負荷駆動装置。 - 前記負荷駆動部は、所定の基準電圧を生成する基準電圧生成回路と、前記基準電圧を電流変換して前記負荷の駆動電流を生成する駆動電流生成回路と、を有して成り、
前記基準電圧生成回路は、前記イネーブル信号に応じて前記基準電圧の生成可否が制御されるものであって、
前記駆動電流生成回路は、前記PWM信号に応じて前記駆動電流の生成可否が制御されるものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の負荷駆動装置。 - 前記イネーブル制御部は、前記PWM信号を平滑化して前記イネーブル信号を生成する平滑回路であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の負荷駆動装置。
- 前記イネーブル制御部は、前記PWM信号のパルスエッジをトリガとして、前記イネーブル信号を所定の論理レベルに保持するラッチ回路であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の負荷駆動装置。
- 前記PWM信号が所定の論理レベルに維持されている期間をカウントし、そのカウント値が所定値に達したときに、前記イネーブル制御部をリセットするリセット制御部を有して成ることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の負荷駆動装置。
- 前記PWM信号の外部入力が開始されてから所定の期間が経過するまで、前記負荷駆動部に対する前記PWM信号の供給を禁止するマスク制御部を有して成ることを特徴とする請求項3〜請求項5のいずれかに記載の負荷駆動装置。
- 前記負荷として発光素子が外部接続されることを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項6のいずれかに記載の負荷駆動装置。
- 光源となる発光素子と、前記発光素子に駆動電流を供給する請求項7に記載の負荷駆動装置と、を有して成ることを特徴とする照明装置。
- 液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルを照明する請求項8に記載の照明装置と、を有して成ることを特徴とする表示装置。
