Abstract
【解決手段】第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bの正極端子11aおよび負極端子11bが同一の側に電池セルの所定の面と同一の高さに設けられ、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bのそれぞれの所定の面が重ね合わせられることにより、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bの正極端子11a同士および負極端子11b同士が互いに隣接する。したがって、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bの正極端子11a同士および負極端子11b同士を直接的に接続することができる。

Description
正極21は、正極活物質を含有する正極活物質層21aが、正極集電体21bの両面上に形成されたものである。正極集電体21bとしては、例えばアルミニウム(Al)箔,ニッケル(Ni)箔あるいはステンレス(SUS)箔などの金属箔により構成されている。
負極22は、負極活物質を含有する負極活物質層22aが、負極集電体22bの両面上に形成されたものである。負極集電体22bとしては、例えば銅(Cu)箔,ニッケル(Ni)箔あるいはステンレス箔などの金属箔により構成されている。
電解質は、電解液と、この電解液を保持する保持体となる高分子化合物とを含み、いわゆるゲル状となっている。ゲル状の電解質は高いイオン伝導率を得ることができると共に、電池の漏液を防止することができるので好ましい。
セパレータは、例えばポリプロピレン(PP)あるいはポリエチレン(PE)などのポリオレフィン系の材料よりなる多孔質膜、またはセラミック製の不織布などの無機材料よりなる多孔質膜により構成されており、これら2種以上の多孔質膜を積層した構造とされていてもよい。中でも、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレンの多孔質フィルムが最も有効である。
まず、第1の電池素子3および第2の電池素子3の作製方法について説明する。正極21および負極22のそれぞれに、溶媒と、電解質塩と、高分子化合物と、混合溶剤とを含む前駆溶液を塗布し、混合溶剤を揮発させてゲル状の電解質を形成する。そののち、正極集電体21bの端部に正極端子11aを溶接により取り付けると共に、負極集電体22bの端部に負極端子11bを溶接により取り付ける。次いで、ゲル状の電解質が形成された正極21と負極22とをセパレータ23aを介して積層し積層体としたのち、この積層体をその長手方向に巻回する。
次に、上述のようにして作製された第1の電池素子3および第2の電池素子3を用いて、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bを作製する方法について説明する。図5に示すように、軟質ラミネートフィルム13は深絞りにより凹部25を形成し、上述のようにして作製された第1の電池素子3を凹部25に収容する。そして、図6に示すように、軟質ラミネートフィルム13を折り返して軟質ラミネートフィルム13が凹部25の開口部を覆うようにする。次いで、第1の電池素子3の周辺部の、折り返し辺を除く三辺を減圧下で熱溶着することにより封止して、第1の電池セル2aとする。このとき、電極端子11は、折り返し辺に対向する側面の底面(凹部25を覆う面)側から導出される。
次に、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bを用いて、組電池1を作製する方法について説明する。図7は、第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bが重ね合わせられる様子を示す。第1の電池セル2aおよび第2の電池セル2bがそれぞれの底面を互いに接するように重ね合わせられ、組電池1が形成される。

- 1または2以上の組電池と、
上記組電池に接続される回路基板と
を有し、
上記組電池は、それぞれの所定の面が重ね合わせられた第1および第2の電池セルを備え、
上記第1および第2の電池セルは、外装内に電池素子が収納され、正極端子および負極端子が同一の側に上記所定の面と同一の高さに設けられ、
上記第1の電池セルの正極端子および負極端子が、それぞれ上記第2の電池セルの正極端子および負極端子と隣接するようにされている
ことを特徴とする電池パック。 - 請求項1に記載の電池パックにおいて、
上記第2の電池セルの電池素子は、
正極端子および負極端子が上記第1の電池セルの電池素子の正極端子および負極端子に対して反転された位置関係となるように上記外装内に収納される
ことを特徴とする電池パック。
