[Class 81 (ii)] In a baby's teat or comforter comprising a nipple 2 and guard 1a formed as a hollow body of rubber or rubber-like material in which air contained or sealed in the hollow body supports the walls of the guard to prevent collapse thereof, the rear wall of the guard has a tubular extension which is closed to seal the body and to which is attached a finger ring or holder or a member to which the ring or holder is attached. In Fig. 2 the extension is flattened to form a strip 3a which is wrapped round and fixed to the ring 4, whereas in Fig. 4 (not shown) the mouth of the tubular extension is nested on and stuck to the ring. A stopper 5 may be fixed in the neck of the nipple. In another form, the front and rear walls of the guard are connected together by a stay or distance piece, which in Fig. 5 is formed by inturning the tubular extension into the guard and fixing a plug 11 therein, an extension 12 of the plug fitting into the neck of the nipple at the junction of the teat and guard; the finger ring 14 is attached to the rear end of the plug.
