Abstract

The baby's bottle teat aids digestion by making sucking easier. The teat and/or the nipple have a number of microperforations, whose size and number are selected to give the desired flow rate. The perforations can be arranged in groups, and the nipple can be joined to the main part of the body by an extension area enclosed by a thrust area. The extension area can be formed by an annular fold, allowing teat extension when sucking, while the thrust area is an annular thickened portion acting as an abutment for the baby's lips. The surface can be roughened, to give a good grip for the lips.
