Abstract
461,513. Heating air by electricity. BURNSIDE, G. B. Sept. 12, 1935, No. 25317. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] An air heating apparatus in which no visible illumination is produced by the actual electrical heating means D and separate luminous means E are provided, comprises a duct A containing the heating element D and the stream of hot air delivered therefrom passes over and in contact with the luminous means so that the heat delivered by the air appears to come from the luminous means, and auxiliary ducts B, C, and F are interposed between the exterior of the structure and the flow of heated air in and from the heating duct. The heating duct and auxiliary ducts are only connected in comparatively cool regions to stop tho escape of heat by conduction as described in Specification 414,475. When viewed from the front the apparatus presents the appearance of an open grate coal fire.
