[Class 126] [Also in Group XIII] An electric fire having means for simulating a coal fire has a motor driven fan for passing air over the electric heating elements. A fan a driven by a motor b passes air through a duct d containing heating elements c at the rear of an imitation coal fire f. A hollow sheet metal member g separates and insulates the imitation coal from the elements c. The air leaves the duct d through a grille i. Mounted in the lower part are flicker units x, driven by air currents from lamps l. Each flicker fan x may have one of its blades offset so as to abut against a fixed projection during each rotation to reverse the rotation. An alternative outlet from the duct is provided by opening a hinged lid k, or the heated air may be blown through the imitation fuel f. Air can be circulated by the fan without the heating elements being switched in.
