Abstract

1416527 Rotary harrows or cultivators C VAN DER LELY NV 1 Dec 1972 [8 Dec 1971] 39523/74 Divided out of 1416526 Heading A1B The blades 8 of the soil working members 3 of a rotary harrow are each inclined outwards and downwards, and the leading edges of the blades 8 have parts 10 extending rearwardly and downwardly. The blades 8, 8 of each soil working member 3 are formed in one piece with a portion 9 which is secured to a flange 6 by shear bolts 7. The blades 8, 8 are set obliquely to the portion 9 (see Fig. 4). A ground-engaging support beam 13 is adjustably pivoted at 14 so that it can be deflected forwardly against tension springs. The soil working members 3 are angularly staggered to allow them to overlap, and comprise meshing pinions 5 driven from the tractor by an extension 19 of one of the shafts 2. Seeds, fertilisers or pesticides are delivered to the soil from a hopper 28 by a feed mechanism 27A rotated by a ground wheel (not shown) or the input shaft 25. The hopper 28 is connected to delivery tubes 29 adjustably supporting sliders 32 which carry tines 37 to cover seeds sown in furrows made by the lower parts 29A of the delivery tubes 29.
