Abstract

1,222,459. Ladders. A. SYKES and A. SYKES. 10 July, 1969, No. 34804/69. Heading E1S. A flexible metal ladder for use as a fire escape has aluminium side members 1 and tubular steel rungs 2 located by split pins in holes at the ends of the members 1. A cranked upper member 4 locates the top of the ladder over a window sill, and a hinged stay 5, suspended by a chain 6, spaces the lower part of the ladder from the wall.
