Abstract

555,980. Ladders. KIDD, F., and KIDD, T. D. Feb. 12, 1942, No. 1881. [Class 20 (ii)] Ladder sections are formed with longitudinally curved sides a the ends of which are joined together on each side by a free wire or tubular tie e. The sides may be of angle or other section metal as may also the rungs. Ladder sections may be assembled to form a sliding extension ladder, a closed frame g, h, at the end of one section enclosing a sliding section which is provided with a hook k to engage a rung of the main section for supporting at different levels. The ends of the sides of the sliding section may also be hook-shaped as shown at m to engage the upper rung and the bar h on the main section, to link ladder sections together to form a step ladder.
