Life-boats; hulls. -A boat or vessel adapted to be carried by large ships for life-saving or scouting at sea comprises inner and outer substantially spherical casings 1, 2 separated by an inflated space 4. The top opening 7 for passengers and luggage &c. can be closed airtight. The casings may conveniently be made of rubber cloth secured upon a. metal framework 3. The neck 8 may be closed by drawing it together by a strap 9. The vessel may be fitted with a machine gun, a periscope 12, oxygen supply, port lights 13, propellers 10 driven by hand or power, and with steering-means.
