Abstract

11,102. Sueter, M. F., Boothby, F. L. M., and Paterson, H. G. Aug. 9, 1911. Hulls; planes for varying draught.-A hydroaeroplane, which may be converted into a motorboat, comprises an ogival-shaped body a divided into water-tight compartments and having its outer walls of waterproofed silk or duralumin. The opening b is enclosed by flexible watertight fabric adapted to fit closely round the bodies of the aviators. Hydroplanes k, k', which may be of ogival shape and in superposed series, are arranged beneath the body and tail. The hydroplanes k may be carried by spring buffers k<2> from the main girders of the planes d so that they may be tilted with these planes and also detached with the planes to convert the machine into a motor-boat, as described in Specification 3330/11, [Class 113(ii), Ships &c., Kinds &c. of].
