An interior freely-moving chamber 2 is arranged concentric with the outer shell and spaced therefrom by anti-friction devices 3. The hatch 6a provides access to the inner chamber which may be provided with sitting arrangements, hammocks, &c. The device may be secured to a submarine craft by releasable bolts. In this case access is provided by a removable hatch cover arranged in the keel.
