Abstract

1,097,715. Reciprocating electric motors. PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN N.V. March 4, 1965 [March 7, 1964], No. 9254/65. Heading H2A. [Also in Division F1] The piston assembly 5 of a double acting piston pump (see Division F1] is reciprocated electromagnetically either, as shown, by connecting windings on soft iron or ferrite yokes 35 to a source of A.C. or D.C., in which case the assembly 5 is also of soft iron, or by magnetizing the assembly and supplying the windings with D.C. through a reversing switch or supplying them with A.C. or pulse current. A plurality of pumps may be arranged in parallel and operated with a phase difference. End stops 21, forming pole pieces, are used to vary the stroke of the assembly 5.
