- I have the sense of humor of a 12-year old boy.
- You'll never see one the same again
- Heh Heh
- Pat Summerall and John Madden do a play by play of an Easter bunny fight.
Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- I have the sense of humor of a 12-year old boy. (HT The View from Lady Lake)
- Interesting - The World's Top 50 Endowment Funds. Stanford overtaking Harvard shows how the power of Silicon Valley has overtaken old money influence.
- And just like that - Florida and Texas added Portland Maine to the list of cities they'll be busing illegal immigrants to. (HT Feral Irishman)
- Heh Heh - this is great! Reminds me of how a guy made lots of money by simply selling generic toilet paper by naming it Shit Be Gone.
Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- New Georgia nuclear power plant begins generating electricity and is linked to power grid. More please.
- The Archimedes wind turbine looks pretty cool. Leave it to the Dutch to re-invent the windmill. Here's the brochure.
- McDonalds reportedly shuts US offices in preparation of layoffs. If they announce they are laying off all positions related to DEI then I'd look for a stock jump. BTW McDonalds is headquartered in Chicago?
McDonald's is often called a real estate firm dressed up as a fast food chain - it's true.
Interesting look at how the building is the real profit center for McDonald's not the burger being sold.

The Democratic Party really seems to be in a pickle. It is becoming increasingly clear that Joe Biden is cognitively not up for the job but also clear that Kamala Harris is so unpopular that she might become a boat anchor for the entire party. What to do? What to do?... And I wrote the above before reading this article from Victor Davis Hanson. Perhaps great minds think alike (or maybe the problem is just that glaringly obvious despite what the media is not telling us)... I always wanted to visit Australia but after the latest lockdown - not so much anymore... McDonalds says all CUSTOMERS and employees in high COVID areas must wear masks no matter vaccination status. McDonalds stock down $8 since announcement ($244.69 on 8/2 and $236.00 on 8/3). Sure it's unrelated... Celebrity Death Match used to be a big show on MTV. I enjoyed it but today I'd really like to see a Celebrity Rascal Scooters Racing with the first match between Rob Reiner and Rosie O'Donnell. You'd watch that - wouldn't you?... I predicted a couple of weeks ago that failing or struggling brands would try to boost exposure or revenues by simply rebranding themselves by adding a "+" sign or the word "Plus" to the end of their name and shortly thereafter we saw Outside+ and the joke that is CNN+. Now we see the media trying to rebrand the Delta variant as the Delta Plus variant. What does that say about the seriousness of the variant and the lack of the public buying into new lockdowns?...

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Bucks - the 2021 NBA Champs! Hard not to root for this team... Right now some sports books have Rand Paul at +$3,500 (meaning you'd risk $100 to win $3,500) to be the Republican 2024 nominee for President. If he keeps after Dr. Fauci and China the way that he's been doing - that bet might represent good value... Reminder that the only country to put men on the moon does not use the metric system. U-S-A! U-S-A!... Speaking of the USA - we are -$1,200 (meaning you'd have to risk $1,200 to win just $100) to win the most medals at the Tokyo Olympics. Wonder if being that big an overall favorite adds or detracts to the interest in the games?... Cool story in four parts - Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4... Think I mentioned in this space a few weeks ago that failing companies would look to rebrand themselves and hope for new revenues simply by adding a "Plus" (or "+" sign) at the end of the company name. Then almost right on que... Saddens me that the phrase "This is for all the Tostitos!" never caught on to the degree it became a common cliché. I still use it fairly regularly...

During his speech at the 1964 Democratic National Convention - LBJ never once mentioned Vietnam. Guessing the MSM of the day never pressed him on it either. The more things change the more they stay the same... Rudolph Diesel is a man who doesn't get enough credit for his contributions to the modern world... Funny how this works out but L. Ron Hubbard was able to create a cult while Charlie Sheen failed in his attempt. From the outside you'd think that "Tiger Blood" and "Winning!" would be more attractive than space aliens but go figure... Did McDonald's skip the Shamrock shake this year? Never saw any ads for it... Heh heh - "Oral Roberts has more wins over Ohio State than Jim Harbaugh." - Ross Tucker...
